A New Hampshire man who thought he had a decent ball toss says he lost his life savings—or about $2,600—playing a carnival game he claims was rigged.
Henry Gribbohm told WBZ-TV that he was attempting to win an Xbox Kinect at the Manchester carnival when things went awry.
The 30-year-old from Epsom, N.H., was playing a game called Tubs of Fun in which contestants toss balls into a tub, but the balls kept popping out.
“It’s not possible that it wasn’t rigged,” Gribbohm said. “You just get caught up in the whole ‘I’ve got to win my money back.’”
Gribbohm lost $300, WBZ-TV reports, "went home to get $2,300 more and soon lost all of that as well."
Manchester police are investigating the incident, and New Hampshire-based Fiesta Shows, which produces the traveling carnival, is pulling Tubs of Fun for the time being.
Gribbohm, who managed to win a stuffed banana with dreadlocks before dropping $2,600, says he's considering a lawsuit.
“For once in my life I happened to become that sucker,” Gribbohm said. Source
Fucking retard. Good riddance to his paltry savings. What blows my mind is he's considering a lawsuit. Can I sue him for being a complete fucking idiot?

"claims was rigged" Let's wait and see if the fine officers of the Manchester Police Department bring back anything conclusive, besides Mr. Gribbohm's complete forgoing of common sense.
If you're chancing your entire measly life savings on an event notorious for having intrinsically poor odds of favourable outcome, you deserve what you get. Once again, fuck him and his $2600.

Lol, I had saved up 5k by the time I was 18 to buy a used car.
I guess it's better to lose your life savings when you've only got 2k to lose than to lose it when you've got 20k to lose - better he learns that lesson now.
But seeing as he's a grown ass man who is still blaming the carnival game(really?! really?) for his blatant idiocy, I don't think he's really learned anything. What a moron.

Maybe to you, but a lot of people around that age (and older) have a negative net worth and owe shit tons on credit cards at ridiculous interest rates. IMO the sad part is that he lost the money in such a stupid way. Why not just buy a damn Xbox if that's what you wanted?
If you owe shit tons on credit cards then you're doing it wrong. End of story.
I have a line of credit if I ever REALLY get myself into shit that is under half the interest rate of a credit card. Even digging into that would be terrible though.
Again, I could not have said it better myself.

What's pathetic is assuming that other's are "dick-sizing" when they point out something so blatently fishy and unusual as a 2500 dollar "life savings"

Well I normally assume the term "dick-sizing" means to try and to sound better than another person in some sense. Maybe we have different definitions, but I have only heard the term dick-sizing in a negative context.
Rather than doing that - I think pwnasaurus is giving reference from his personal experience, to show how quickly money can be saved up and how unusually small a 2500 dollar life savings is in comparison. I don't think the goal in mind is making himself sound "better", and I'd think that's a pretty negative assumption to make
But with the part you have bolded, I can now understand where you're coming from with the whole "dick sizing " thing since it's a direct comparison from one thing to another like that
-------------------- "Ur cat died because he hated u" - Koods "I hope JSB kicks your ass one day." - Vandago "you are the biggest 'internet guy' I have ever come across"- Jokeshopbeard "The more I see you post the more I realize you're just this fuckin tie dye loser who trolls the Shroomery 24/7." - Herbologist "Sheekle you cannot vile the dice of bullshit you have posted on this forum over the years, I like databases" - thelastoneleft "or maybe i just come from a blood line of superior intelligence" - trees R.I.P Kelsy, ?/?/?? - 6/11/16

hmmm, nice.
i like pwnasurus, and he's right. only the way he said what did, (sorry, dude, it's just my opinion; and i'm already an asshole) made him sound like anyone with low savings funds is an idiot. it's simply not true. (maybe it is for the guy in the story though, so, hey, i might just be talking out of my ass. i don't really know.)

Can't it be a combination of dick-sizing and being baffled by this guy's clear lack of intelligence?

There are so many hilarious parts to this story: 1. That his entire life savings amounted to $2,300 2. That he actually thought he could win 3. That he didn't stop at $5 or $10 4. That he lost $300 (more than the price of an Xbox with Kinect) before returning home to get more money 5. That he still thought he could win after losing $300 6. That he didn't stop at $300, $500, $1000, or even $2000 later 7. That he still thought he could win after losing $2300 8. That he is suing over something that ultimately comes down to his own stupidity 9. That he thought he could win his money back at a carnival game: "You just get caught up in the whole ‘I’ve got to win my money back'" 10. That he lost it all on a game called "Tubs of Fun"
