Mine already started pinning 5 weeks ago. After a week or two of 28-35 degrees we got two days of mid 20's and the night temp was 15ish. Fair to say that they aborted when the 30's hit again though...

Nah i didn't bother. Its the same strain that grew in my room in mid 20's Could be genetics, the patch also get watered daily. Would give the myc the shock it needs after that summer. 15 degrees seemed quite cold as it only really grew in 20+ this summer (first its been back outdoors).

Rekon that there'd be 5+ aussie sub growers alone on this thread that would be most gratefull if you cloned and sent some of those isolates around.
Would be very interesting to see if similar results can be acheived

Yeah i did send some of the prints from them out seeing as the outdoor patch fruited earlier in the year than most others too. I sent about 10 of them to you when you asked for contributions to the sub giveaway (as well as other patched). Id me more than happy to make some slants once i get my hepa filter up and running

Yes you did kind sir............
Had sooooooo much going on then that I completely forgot
I do remember sending a large portion of the prints you sent to the USA for distribution. Rekon I would have saved the 'special' ones. Will have to go through my print fridge to find them.
@ Psylosymonreturns, 9 degrees etc...... is for West Aus where the myc came from for the tubs that fruited.

Hello, thank you
Did you just start with stems and butts in between cardboard in plastic containers? Did you have to sterilize anything?

When it comes to stems on cardboard, just make sure the cardboard or egg carton is fairly clean and that you soak them in clean water.
Before the plastic container step, I put the 'taco's' (rolled up stems on cardboard) in plastic snap lock bags, leaving a 3rd of the bag open for Fresh Air Exchange......FAE. Takes a little while for the myc to take hold and you may have to spray some water into the bags every few weeks or so (depending on the weather) to keep the cardboard etc damp and the myc growing.
I have found that in warmer weather the mycelium stalls, just as it would in the wild.
Sterilization etc is only necessary if you cultivating from spores, using agar etc...........which ,once you get the hang of the cardboard tek you should give a go as it's quite exciting to see subaeruginosa or any myc speeding it's way across the surface of agar.

There's a bit of chat happening in the South Australia thread, discussing whether or not Cyanescens grow wild in Australia.
Got some Cyans growing now, want to compare them to the local subs and also West Aus subs if/when they fruit.
Started some Azurescens at the same time as the Cyans, they didn't make it though. Wanna get some more going this winter.
Thailand's great! Wrong time of year for cubes etc........ very dry atm.
