Filling a water gun with water & spores 1

I want to spread spores across the city & in the mountains. Nature does it on it's own simply by opening up the veil and dropping the spores to be spread like dust in the wind. Nature doesn't knock up jars and plant fully colonized cakes. So what I was thinking about doing is filling up a little water gun with water & spores and shooting it everywhere. Anyone ever try this before?

yes its been done before, but to what success I don't know.
Probably have better luck spraying an LC around, soon as the myc hits the sub it will be colonizing, therefore furthering your chances i would think

let nature handle the spore spreading, you have a better chance at doing the PF tek and handing out shrooms to people in the mountains and the cities, you can even just do outdoor patches and letting your fruits sporulate everywhere before harvesting.

That's about the equivalent of tossing around a handful of acorns to grow a forest.

Well put. Better to make outdoor beds with spawn.

Why not add a little Karo to the water (not enough to make it too thick) and give it a few days to let the spores germinate, THEN spray it everywhere?

Because if you're going as far as that, you might aswell be stingy and cultivate your own shrooms in your house to increase your success rate.. Dont waste karo, and dont waste spores...

"Might as well" doesn't mean it wouldn't work. Maybe he/she doesn't want an active mushroom grow in their house? A lot of people have Karo or something similar lying around and one drop isn't going to be a waste, and maybe they have a partial print or syringe lying around from previous endeavours that they maybe DON'T want to waste by just letting it sit around.
Or maybe someone just wants to experiment for the sake of it? That doesn't seem like a waste to me.

Exactly! It would be experimental, something to do with my prints I have while I finish up some legal issues and would be an incredible thing to do if it worked. Imagine if everyone who grew got themselves a water gun at the dollar tree and did this with their spare spores... The world would be a much better place.
What is karo?

Light corn syrup, basically just sugars. Add a tsp for every 1/2 pint or pint and the spores will have enough to germinate and give you thick clouds of mycelium. (If you let it sit long enough.)
But for the water gun idea, I'd fill a 1/2 pint jar with water, add a tsp or more of karo or some type of sugar, (Sugar in the raw would also work.) mix well and then add spores. Wait 3-5 days and you'll start to see mycelium. Probably should start shooting it once you first see germination because it could get too thick to fit out of the nozzle.
Since the 1/2 pint of water probably wouldn't be enough to fill the water gun, mix your germinated spore solution with more water and then have at it!

First off since this is outside sterility is non-essential. Take a shroom, put it in a blender with some water. Load it into a super soaker. Fill it up the rest of the way with water. Unload in key locations. Hope for the best, expect nothing. Dont even bother with making a sterile lc with sugar......... Waste of time.

It's pretty easy to over-blenderize to the point of killing your culture. You'll never get good success chopping them down to super soaker thinness.
A couple pulses then run them through a sprayer or one of those one shot water blasters you suck up from a pail might work.
There's always the old spore rocket method too.

Doesn't stamets say something about
Water Brown Sugar Salt
Salt keeps bad bac/enzies at bay while the spores germinate with the sugar and water. (Would probably use honey myself)
Couple days and a super soaker later.
This should work at least a little bit for wood lovers if you find/prepare the right outdoor beds. I know where there are some HUGE piles of stumps.

Spore rocket? Load a model rocket with spores?? I'll be trying the water gun lc here in a week or two since its warm enough now to test it.
