I found the two types mushrooms here in middle tennessee today on a dead hickory tree. Left mushrooms show the top and the right mushroom is of then bottom. The white looking one seems to have small hairs one the bottom any ideas?

The first set of pics looks like two top surfaces with no undersurface shot. Based on that, it looks like Turkey tail. The second could be Turkey tail too but it's hard to tell 'cause it's faded and there's no size comparison. Maybe Trametes hirsuta? Definitely not false turkey tail.

No the other side is bottom that's why I don't think it's a turkey tail there are no visible spores both sides look very close but the bottom is slightly lighter color

Are either edible? Also I should add they are smooth only the white one has hairs on the bottom.

This. Now I get that the hairs were on the bottom. Damn, my eyes and reading comprehension suck!
