A friend (literally a friend, not SWIM, or my cat, etc) made a couple Cambo syringes from spore prints and gave me a couple.
First time with Cambodian, and it was a lightening fast colonizer. I inoculated a myriad of jars - from 1 pint to 1 quart; and different substrates - BRF/verm, RGS and rye grain.
I inoculated in mid-March, but have been fucking around.
Here are some random pics of the progression - they're still fruiting at the moment.

I'll update - there are some pins today.

Here are some pin updates - I knew I should have put a black trashbag liner, but I didn't have any at that moment, so I said screw it...
There are lots of pins around the circumference of the tray, and fewer in the center of the cake.
Oh well...

Not the "canopy" pinset I was hoping for, but whatever, some mushrooms are better than no mushrooms.

Hahaha -- thanks Bovine! I'm a fan of Clint's spaghetti westerns actually.
Well, unfortunately I was away for a little over 24 hours, and I had a bunch of mushrooms sporulate. I knew this was going to happen, but before I left was too early to pick and I came back too late (the mushrooms form very fast).
Here are the latest - I harvested them just now.

I have two, 7" X 7" X 3" clear, Glad Tupperware containers; each consisting of 1 quart rye, spawned to ~ 1 quart coir/verm/gypsum. I covered the container(s) with saran wrap and were exposed to ambient light. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cambodian Cubensis
I neglected one of the containers, which also happened to have no liner and triggered in vitro pinning; pretty heavy in vitro pinning - side, top and everywhere.
What was pretty cool though - once put into fruiting conditions, the in vitro pins continued to grow quite well, no aborts. Not a great pinset, but I'll get some decent mushies.
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second container, I did use a liner and has a really awesome pinset! Looks like it will be a pretty good flush for only using 1Qt of rye grain!

I'll update when ready to harvest in another couple days : )

sweet tits good job man I have three pint jars that are just about 100% I think I may just use two of them to try out the whole bulk craze (you know, cos all the cool kids are doing it ) Edit: just now looked at them, nvm, they are all 100% and have pins :/ would I still be able to break them up and use in bulk?

Thanks man - I definitely have prints to send your way
You should try crumbling and spawning them to bulk I've had some pretty good results breaking up BRF cakes.

myco, I'm going to have to do the 'cake crumbling' myself--->No PC<--- I assume you grow the pf tek cake first but Once it reaches 100% colonization, what is your personal cake to crumble to spawn method?
I'm VERY much a nOOb to the monotub thing. Hope this isn't derailing the thread

Nope - not derailing at all! I'm very new myself, so no worries : )
Yeah, say you have three, 100% colonized PF tek cakes; just break them up until marble sized chunks and then spawn them to whatever bulk substrate you want to use. I use around a 1:2 ratio - spawn:bulk, others use a 1:1, so it may just be what seems to "work" for you. Also, I'm sure there are a thousand people one this site who each do it a thousand different ways; and I'm no authority on Teks, but what I've done works for me (thus far). This grow also technically doesn't count as a traditional monotub grow - bulk yes, but not monotub.
I look forward to your grow(s) Bovine - you seem to be a pretty smart dude, so I'm sure you'll pick it up fast and excel.
Check this out as an example - I had .5 cc's left in a Blue Meanie cubensis MS syringe that I had left in a drawer for 16 months. I prepared 3, 1/2 pint BRF jars; I inoculated only one jar with the last .5 cc's in the syringe. The single, 1/2 jar was 100% colonized in ~ 4 weeks; then I took the 2 other uncolonized 1/2 pint jars and the 1 colonized jar and mixed the three together in a Ziploc gallon bag. That colonized in 5 - 7 days; I then spawned that to about a quart of coir/verm/coffee.

The mushroom on the right weighed 76 grams wet alone.
Not a mycological feat by any means, but I yielded 263 wet grams on the first flush with .5 cc's of multispore on a single PF jar and the whole process only took around 8 weeks (inoc to first flush) and I had no special equipment - no PC or SAB.

I certainly will. I feel more as a caretaker of the cultivation, they show me what they want. I seriously have learned a great deal over these past two months. Plus, there is a certain connectiveness to the whole process and experience, growing the mushrooms that allow you to experience the trip...very magical. Anyways...me rambling
Thanks for the offer of prints...I'll have to take you up on it sometime soon.

Hey myco...what was your final dry weight on this Cambodian cultivation? Just curious.
( you gave the 263 weight of a previous grow and I didn't think that meant the grow for this thread ) if it did, my apologies.

To be honest - I'm not exactly sure. I don't have a scale, and just recently purchased a dehydrator. I've been using a friends scale and dehydrator (until recently). I really need to keep closer tabs on the actual wet/dry weight. I just share them with friends anyway so I never really cared - I just enjoyed the process of growing, and all the learning involved.
I knew the weight on the grow you were referring too because I used an old syringe with only .5 cc's of MS and inoculated 1 BRF cake, which I used as spawn. It stuck in my mind because I felt accomplished as a noob using very little supplies and still getting a decent yield (for a noob)
