A coworker of mine years ago looked up how to synthesize rc's on his cell phone on the company wireless, and IT found the query's being ran from his name, like "Joe Schmoes device" was the name of the device they saw connected to the wifi.
The boss told him she didn't appreciate him using company time on that, 
I'd assume any non-voice data sent over the network is readable if a network admin is bored enough.

Don't do that.
In fact, you should not be doing that stuff at all at work--even on the cell network for which I assume you pay.
Sooner or later somebody is going to glance over your shoulder, and it's going to cause trouble for you.
