Wow! Good find! 7 left. Shame I already have one, but that is tempting lol
UKers how would one go about starting a UK base free spore ring? Anyone have any clues? Would it need its own PO BOX, would it be 'dodgy' and raise suspicion?

You would need to get some logistical help from the Mexican or Columbian cartels, I heard they are really good at distributing spores and in fact helped FSRE get started. The last two spore prints I got from FSRE where labeled 'Colombians' and 'Mexicans', think they've joined forces.

Wow £5 for 50L horse manure!
Terrible reviews.. avoid that stuff.

For free or very cheap manure check Gumtree for somewhere local. Stables will let you take it away for free normally and theyll have it bagged and ready to go.

Also this could be promising, lots of it for a good price, just wonder what the other additives are and whether they would be beneficial or not: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gardman-Peat-Free-Compost-60ltr/dp/B004QLPZ6S/ref=pd_sim_sbs_lp_3
Might be worth a little extra research, I may email the company and see what else is mixed into it. The blocks say they make around 9ltr. per block, so 60ltr for £7.35 delivered is a good dealio..
Did you manage to find out anymore about this?

I always just leave the porch open and it gets left so I'm suspecting no signature is required. It would have been a tight fit in the letterbox, actually I don't think it would have fit but I threw the box out a while back so I can't check.

Not yet, been busy as a busy bee.
Plus I ordered a few bricks of coir for the next tubs I do, I'll be sure to post when I have some info.
Some good finds coming in here recently, keep up the good work, all.

Spores are legal in the UK to be looked at under a microscope which is what we all use them for . I have pondered this idea myself , even if we just set up a UK collective in the marketplace where you can work on borrow a print and post a fresh print back from you grow .This might help Noobs starting out .

That would work on a 'one print for one print' basis so you'd still need a lot of prints initially to set it in motion and you would never really further the cause or diversify the main collection as they'd all be the same strain. Unless I'm missing something? Having said that the full idea operates on a charitable level anyway so with a few hard-core growers it could be viable, perhaps after the initial donation of prints users could promise to send several prints back to the ring if they are successful?

Well I was thinking I could start because I have 8 strains, gotta finish growing them, I could print those and save once I've grown. I don't plan on using my prints as I will be working from agar and cloning. If we stick to 'within uk' only I guess the cost would only be first class so could work on a self addressed envelope with a stamp already on it, or if they send a print of one of their strain, they can pick another and get free postage because they've contributed. I do plan on getting more strains too, just got to focus on getting a better cash flow this summer so I can order more from vendors. Could also do spores for edibles for those interested.
I don't know, just thought it'd be nice to have something more local to us than having to go through the whole finding tiny amounts of euros and waiting 2 weeks. Lol. Would be nice to have our own community.

If your looking for some really cheap jars to do some small grain jars. Asda sell curry sauce for 19p. They also sell marmalade for 29p. Ive not tried the curry yet, but the marmalade is actually not too bad. So its a win win there.
Ive not tasted the curry sauce yet, but at 19p a jar. pretty decent for doing grains in a small pressure cooker. I can fit 5 jars at a time. Granted there not that big, but its good for doing small monos. I done 2 runs to get 10 jars.
I will be upgrading to a larger pressure cooker soon though, thanks for those pc links.

lidl is great for jars, especially the pickle jars - they are 1.5L jars for around a quid. I can't wait to see mines filled with sclerotia!

I still find it an outrage that jars full of food can be bought more cheaply than empty ones, something is seriously wrong there. Throwing away food to get empty jars feels so wrong, but there's only so much beetroot or peas and carrots in brine a man can eat..

yeah im not throwing out the food, so ive been collecting the jars as i use the food. And when i needed some extra jars i transfered the food to another container.
My pressure cooker is only 6 litres (its a tall pressure cooker so can fit taller jars) so it takes 5 at a time.
over the past few weeks ive collected probably aorund 20 jars of various sizes. ive got a couple of smaller pickle jars but i can only fit 2 at a time.
But remember that the jars they are using, probably cost pennies each.
Proper canning jars are high quality glass, and have nice lids. and probably arnt made in as many numbers as whats used for sauces etc.

Morrisons used to do curry sauce in a jar for somewhere between 6p and 9p. Baffled me how they could even get the jars cheap enough to do that never mind the sauce. I'd assume it's rotten but dirt cheap jars anyway.
the lids on some of the jars you acquire this way can go rusty quickly though which is probably the quality difference.

Guys, to contibute to this uk forum i need to mention that Lidl has the best jars. They sell sausages in big jars and it is 2£. Was a pain to eat them all though. Some polish shop got pickles in big jars for 80p. I was kinda impatient and ordered jars from Ampulla.co.uk. 30jars for 30£ with home delivery. I think the uk based fsre is a good idea but would be easier to make a tradesystem so everybody can get every print with some effort and time.
