update us fer sure.

violet , brought up a good point last page.
rhizo's are cool indeed, and youll see em,
BUT , like violet, ive seen non rhizo strains,
do amazing things..........
best bet is to isolate and test em.
ya never know , til the boomers grow.

RR doesn't even slice it. he just drops a whole pin onto a dish and it still hauls ass across the agar.

Its probably better to tear the pin in half rather than cutting it with a sterile blade.  This is probably one of the reasons RR puts a full pin onto a dish so you arent chancing contaminating the pin or plate.

Ive always had better results tearing a potential clone candidate over cutting it.

wow.
i wont link to another forum here.
but, wow, i saw a really cool violet tek there.

the tek appears to be really taking off web wide.......

i also noticed another violet tek endevor,( on another forum also)
wich is doing good, but the boomers need FAE.......

peeps watch the FAE , this mix will run hot on CO2.
one of the keys is the bottom watering, allows for more FAE.

this method IS slightly diff than the other more common teks.
be prepared to adjust environmentals , in ways diff than usual.

you guys are champs the way your picking this up so fast.
as ya do this tek, think about all the time/ energy saved.

im most pleased.

Sorry if this was asked already, but what is a good lawn grass seed company? The ones without any pesticides or stuff on the coating? I'm looking on amazon and I see one provider mainly...Scott's. I read the descriptions of many and they don't provide info on using pesticides or not.

Vigoro Fast Grass Grass Seed Mixture. It's primarily rye grass seed and has no 'special coating'.

I read the labels on all of the bags of grass seed at Home Depot. ALL Scott's grass seed had a coating, as well did a couple other brands.

Testing indicates that the Vigoro seed works really well with quick germination and rapid colonization of multi-spore injection in only 3 days. This was compared to 2 week old WBS jars and several popcorn jars started 4 days ago. RGS has passed them ALL in only 3 days. I am probably going to dump the WBS jars and start over with RGS...why not??

sometimes, ya have to hit the garden store and read labels.
if ya cant get RGS, fert brown rice, does about the same.

it is possible, grass seed companys at some point,
might wise up to its alt use.........

in wich case, WBR would be ideal.

*** special note,
someone on another forum ( i wont link)
pulled off a  P. galindoi  grow, using the violet tek,
( they also did cubes as a comaprison)

so far, this tek, has worked for cubes, CNM mexicana and P. galindoi.

i wonder what else, the amazing violet tek can do.......

stay tuned, im sure more will share their experiences.

Just checking in.
The filter jars seem to be working out:

This one is about 10 days after inoculation. Single injection with spores, no shakes. I estimate it will be at 100% in 5 days.

This one is going to pin soon I reccon. It's about a month old:

This one however:

Does not seem to want to push through the casing. It's going around it instead. Anyone know what that's about?

Hydrating rye grass now! 6 more hours, then it's strain and PC for it to cool overnight for tomorrow's inoculation.

Thanks for the RGS recommendation..found vigoro fast seed mixture

I'm seeing something in my experiment that I didn't expect:

I started with a bunch of half pint jars with LC. Then g2ged into quart jars.  I took some of the quart jars and put them into tubs with lids placed on loosely.  Some of the tubs are 7 quart capacity so they got 2 quarts of spawn, 1 jar on one half of the tub, one jars worth on the other half.  Well, after about 7 days I noticed some of them were not recovering, I could still see the brown of the grain through the mycelium.  The odd thing is, some of the tubs that had half and half, well half of them have recovered and half have not!  Strange, well I figured it might be lack of fae so I drilled 1/16th holes in the lid to make sure it was breathing.  When I did that, about half of the stalled tubs recovered after about 3 days, but some have still not recovered.  There has been slight recovery, but I can still see the grains.  I had one smaller tub do that as well.

I can't give an updated pic because of an issue with my phone but here is a pic I took about 10 days ago.

See the tub on the left?  It hasn't recovered and the one on the right has nicely.  I'm wondering if having the pp5 containers from the start might have prevented this problem.  Hopefully they will eventually recover.  I'm also having mixed results with these smaller containers, although these are good, I also have one that has not recovered that is not shown:

The lips on the containers are very different from each other.  The sterilite ones have a pronounced curve to them.  I wonder is some of the problem might be genetic, some spores had genes that allow them to recover, and some don't.  It certainly seems that way when I look at half a tub that is recovered and the other half from a different jar is not.  On the other hand when I went from half pint to quart they all fully recovered with no delays.

What do you guys think is a normal recovery time?  I've never had a g2g stall, this is the first time I've seen anything stall.

I just read this tek and is very interesting. I recently did an experiment much like bottom watering.  I had a quart jar filled to about 1/3 with bird seed fully colonized and consolidated.  It started to pin in the jar before i ever opened the lid.  I opened the lid and put water in it that came up half way to the mycelum.  I wrapped a small towel around it to block light from the sides and put under a grow light.  Days later over fifteen dense fruits opened their caps at the top of the jar.  The one thing that it did that really surpised me was that it  fruited one albino fruit that never fully opened.  Im currently cloning and isolating the albino.  hopefully it produces more.

I read somewhere that a shake may not be good when coming from MS. If your LC was not an isolate, this could be the issue. Basically I understood in the article that sometimes the different myc don't recognize each other as friend and will battle for the substrate. So that's my best guess, I guess.

I am almost finished acquiring the necessary precursors. A few hours ago I got a 50# sack of GS for $30 plus tax. But the damn ziploc brand small sized twist tops I have yet to see with my own eyes. There are not any for sale within 30+ miles from here, I am sure. I'd like to use my glass jars, but even more so I would like to closely adhere to the TEK. And hope for similar results. G'luck everyone. Peace.

It was MS, I think I might take the stalled stuff and spawn it to bulk, then clone the ones that do good for the future.

Phew....doing 4th PC...then it's my last PC with agar solutions. Almost done.. Just inoculated the first 3 rounds of containers with Thai Tanic multi, Z strain isolate, and golden teacher isolate. I WON'T FORGET TO LABEL THEM THIS TIME LULZ

Question...where do you guys fruit the substrates? I literally filled all my totes and tubs with containers...when they colonize, I can't stack them up like that. It worries me.

Btw I transferred all my current cakes to containers as well..I realized I stuffed my jars from before, which REALLY affected growth(only colonized on the top later). I'm overstocking on mycelium hehehe:bigyesnod:

Finished PC'ing everything..gonna wait for the 4th round to cool down to inoculate.
  +
I'm really getting worried now. Where am I gonna fruit these babies?!

Gonna research some bulk fruiting methods..I read that colonization happens 3 days + but I didn't put plant food so that may give me more time hopefully. Current cakes are halfway done and I need one of the tubs soon lol

Maybe you could fruit only a portion of them at a time, leaving the rest to consolidate. That's probably what I'll end up doing, and that's a good thing until the consolidation link gets caught up to meet your FCs ability.

That sounds good. I can fit 4... Unless..I buy a huge tub...but they were like 15$. I already wasted 30$ off my weed budget lol. I guess I'll just have to keep it on my mind for the next few days.

 to violet for sharing. Seriously, I feel this grow will surpass all my previous ones..combined. :bow2:
