I'm sure everyone knows that fresh mushrooms and sclerotia are being sold in the U.K. it's getting media attention. I get the feeling that there is a real risk they are going to get placed on the list of controlled drugs.
The sale of shrooms in other countries has caused them to be banned. (Japan most recently). A few people try to make a profit out of them and all the pickers and growers end up being criminalized as a result.
doesn't seem that fair.

Hmmm its probably to late to prevent fresh mushrooms being criminalised if they do indeed intend to. But rest assured even if they do plan a ban due to the inefficient nature of our government it'll be a long time before it becomes law.
Lets hope they dont...

I could'nt see it makin' much difference. Do you really think it will stop people eatin' them anyway? Its great that they are bein' sold in shops, are they in fact bein' sold in shops? I was surprised to learn that Salvia is now available in like, Head stores in Ireland. Thats gotta' be a step in the right direction, upward mainly.
But StonedPhucker your from Wales thats fcukin' 'Shroom Capital, FFS. Its not gonna' change your eatin' habits that much is it?
Whats the name of the movie i'm thinkin' of here set in Wales.........."Twin Towns", thons the gubbins. Good bit'a'mushroom maddness in that. Very funny film.

Hmm.. I hadn't expected this, considering all the recent talk about decriminalizing weed. Still, who cares? They can make mushrooms illegal all they want but it won't stop me or anyone else for that matter. Fuck them and their stupid, petty laws.

I was stunned to find that they are even selling kits in Belfast now.We are usually 15 years behind the mainland. This is the country that wouldnt give ELO permission to have an outdoor concert because the local politicians said they played devil music.Wait to they find out about this

I think we'll be ok... I think the government are getting used to the drug culture over here. Wasn't there talk of downgrading MDMA to class B? And of course the legalisation of Cannabis.
As long as there aren't loads of under 18's walking around battered out of their head on mushrooms with their parents kicking up a stink the government will turn a blind eye I rekon.

Course they will. Its way to much trouble for them. In the U.K its always been more of a seasonal issue anyway, i suppose that may change with shops stockin' 'shrooms and other products. Be like Christmas everyday for some people.

Pretty much everyone I know prefers dried mushies anyway, and as they're already illegal any changes won't make a difference. It's not really that convienient to go to a party with loads of fresh squashable mushies about your person.. with comments like "is that a 50g amazonian in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me" 
I'm sure we'll all still grow and all still consume and the only people that get fucked are the ones selling 'kits' for 30 quid each and fresh shrooms at ?1 a gram.. no great loss.

people won't stop taking them but it's nice to be on the right side of the law. If they are made Class A and you get caught growing I think you will get screwed for intention to supply.
Britain may have downgraded cannabis to Class C but I don't believe the government here is even half as liberal on drugs as in the Netherlands. If tabloid "journalists" take an interest I think things will change. It's true that if the government was bothered about them being legal they would have done something about it years ago, but that doesn't mean they won't react to scare stories. The standard of journalism when it comes to drugs is abysmal.
The media periodically gets itself worked up about some new drug menace... ecstasy, herbal ecstasy, Shulgin's phenethylamines, cat, khat, rohypnol, GHB etc.
