    #1810431 - 08/13/03 04:52 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

Can anyone voutch for the statement that cubs grow in any and every field south of memphis, TN? Ive seen it on many hunting sites and was wondering the accuracy of this statement.
thanks,

no i can't voutch for that statement but I have heard many good things about fields south of I-55.

but as far as the accuracy to the statement - " in any and every field south of memphis, TN "

I would have to say Not too accurate at all- there are always fields that produce Nothing and some that produce a Shitload during diff parts of the season whether it be summer or winter

I think you've got to go just a little farther south than Memphis. South of Jackson for sure though, maybe 75 miles north of Jackson but I doubt any farther. I know they don't grow any farther north than Atlanta.

" I know they don't grow any farther north than Atlanta "

And just how exactly do you Know this? Because you are Wrong in your assumption-

I've got several friends who have harvested cubes in Marietta, GA- Not this year but last.

well, there are currently reports of cub collecting very close to Memphis. They grow pretty far north, although not as common. I was just wondering if anyone knew how far south one would have to go to have a good chance of finding cubs (provided good weather).

I know this because of climate, that's a rare finding. I bet if they were to look again they most likely wouldn't ever find one. Marietta is still pretty much ATL anyway, very close.

>is the NC, SC border north or south of ATL?

I have a suggestion... you ready?
LOOK AT A MAP.

Anyways... as far as cubes being found in any and every field south of Memphis, no, thats not gonna happen. Cubes tend to be very common South of Atlanta, but their distribution north of Atlanta is very splotchy. Not quite sure how it works but they'll grow in Memphis TN, but not Gainesville, GA.
