Just got my probation revoked...

So I just got a letter from the State's Attorney notifying me that I've been charged with 3 Manufacture/Delivery Schedule Iii (My original charges I got probation for) and the matter is set to Arraign on Petition to Revoke because I got arrested for driving on a revoked license a couple weeks ago. I live in Illinois. All my fines are paid off and my treatment is done, clean drug tests and I was 2 months away from getting off probation (I'm stupid, I know). Any idea what kind of consequences will come from this? I don't have any prior felonies, but clearly I fucked up while on probation. What are the odds they will extend my probation/fine me more, and what are the odds they will sentence me to prison time?

They may or may not send you to prison. Depends on their mood and how well you can argue that you are a productive member of society. Make sure you show up at the requested hearing with a lawyer.
Since you were almost off probation a lawyer might be able to affect your case.

The same thing happened to me in ohio, instead though I was charged with a DUI months before I was released from felony probation.
I got a really really really good attorney that got me into a little bit of counseling classes, and I finished them perfect and got off probation when I was supposed to.

Sweet. I dropped a few thousand on an attorney a few days ago and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm hoping they take into account that all my fines and treatment have been taken care of and I have a job. I know someone who had two dirty drops and two PTR while they were on felony probation and they ended up getting 3 days in jail. I'm preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. Thanks for the feedback

Well, how much suspended sentence do you have hanging?
If this is your first violation you likely won't get any jail time. If you have a pissy judge you might get a week or two, even a month or two. That would be pretty likely considering how minor the violation is.
A lawyer isn't going to do you any good. He'll just pocket your money and say exactly what you just told us.
If you want to do something that will actually help you then get some character witnesses/employers/counselors/ministers/etc. to write you letters saying how good you've been doing.
I recently saw a guy get the entire 60 days left on his suspended sentence for failing his pee test. But he had screwed up several times before and the judge just wanted to get him off probation so he could go back to being a drunk and not waste court time anymore.

I don't believe I had a suspended sentence, I'm pretty sure it was an open-ended plea when I pled guilty. I do plan on having letters from my work and family and friends, especially since I got a small promotion a few days ago.

> I don't believe I had a suspended sentence,
A suspended sentence is the time they hold over your head while you're on probation. Otherwise you're only dealing with the driving ticket.
You either get your suspended sentence at sentencing, or for parole it's whatever time you have left on your original sentence.
You should really find this info out. Doesn't really matter if you have a large suspended sentence, since you'll probably not be getting hammered with any of it. BUT, if you only have a little time then just do it! A couple weeks in jail is a lot better than a year of probation. As you found out, probation is just outside jail where they give you enough rope to hang yourself.

I'm pretty sure they gave me 30 months probation and the 8 days I was in jail before I bonded out as my sentence. I don't recall them sentencing me to any actual time and then suspending it other than the 8 days I was already in. The sentence of 30 months probation and 8 days in jail was for 1 charge only, but they brought back the 3 original charges. Right now my lawyer has my paperwork from when I got sentenced, and when I check the online public access it says I was given 30 months probation and 8 days served. I'm pretty sure the original lawyer said if I mess up my probation that I get re-sentenced on my charges, but I hope I'm mistaken. Most people are saying that since I haven't had any other violations they shouldn't be too hard on me, especially since I had progressed from intense probation to low-risk probation and its only considered a traffic matter rather than criminal matter. I'll find out in a couple weeks, I've got my fingers crossed.

Don't sweat it. It's a very common, very minor offence. Judges spend all day some days doing probation violations. In my area the first time is usually a freebie, but they might extend or start your probation over. I wouldn't expect any more than that to happen to you.
Let us know how it goes.
