I started p90x today and I can tell I'm going to hate it. But,I need it. I'm about 15 pounds overweight and out of shape,so this should be good for me. Any one tried this,or anything like it...any tips?

Drink lots of water and burn more calories than you take in. Watch your fat intake as well. Pay attention to sodium amount also in the things you eat. Start weight training as well. I believe I heard that weight training burns more calories than aerobic exercise. Good luck and most importantly... have fun!

My diet is actually pretty decent up to this point. I eat mostly fruit because that's one of the few foods I like
I'm just a lazy fuck.
I did the first 30 seconds of the ab ripper video and got a thigh cramp...so I stopped and watched TV

that kind of reinforces my feelings on p90x.. it's too extreme and therefore not sustainable. i can't really say though since i only tried doing it once many years ago. good luck though, it'd be great if you could finish it! i'm sure you'd feel good about yourself

In case anyone was wondering...cutting the reps in half gives you a workout that is still unbelievable for such a small amount of time.

P90X is an excellent workout series. If you don't have the knowledge or discipline to formulate your own exercise plan (and even if you do), the routines offer a balanced approach to working out pretty much every part of your body for strength, cardiovascular health and flexibility. I have not followed the program as written, but I do incorporate its individual routines into my overall exercise plan and it has definitely proven valuable and effective in helping me to maintain better physical (as well as mental) health. It should be noted that I have never had any health issues or weight problems. If you do, P90X may not be the appropriate place to start because even though you can dial back on the intensity by doing fewer repetitions, modifying the moves and/or using less weight, it is still a rigorous workout program that you will want some basic strength and endurance to effectively tackle.

I've done p90x twice. It's a great program.
Like geokills, I have now adopted many of the exercises and routines into my own workouts.
It taught me a lot.
Love the chest and back workout. I could do so many bloody pullups and chinups by the end.
But on that note...It's been 3 months since I've even stepped foot in the gym, which is costing me 47 a month right now
I need to get back on the band wagon

I do my own workout routines for all of my body, except I do P90X for abs. It works really well, I can testify to that.

Yeah the Ab Ripper X is definitely a productive routine. It took a long while before I could actually get through the entire routine without taking breaks or doing fewer repetitions... and when one day I finally made it, I was pretty stoked. I have definitely noticed a difference in my body from this routine in particular (and it still kicks my ass every time I do it).
