will this work for a incubator????
    #1811701 - 08/14/03 12:47 AM (14 years, 12 days ago)

Well I decided today I want to use some type of incubator, but lack of money leaves me to a limited amount of supplies. I was wondering if having a 20 gallon Rubbermaid with water heated by a fish heater would work? Kind of like a terrarium but except no perlite. Would this create to much humidity for the jars to be in? If somebody could respond to this I would greatly apreciat it, thanks.

This is the standard rubbermade in rubbermade.

The small pump is in there to mix the water so it doesn? t heat up from the bottom up, it isn?t needed though.

Results.

then yeah it'll work...just make sure the fish heater doesn't touch either container and melt a hole in 'em...keep an eye on the temps cuz they tend to be a few degrees off in the incubator from the temp on the heater's thermostat...

good luck...

Yea they vary between .5 and 2 degrees. Check it out with a thermometer.
