Anyone ever tried this? (pollyfill bungs)

I was just wondering if anyone has ever used this method for dialing in a monotub?
Personally I find pollyfill and stuffing my monotub a PITA due no doubt to my inexperience, but I found that by tightly wrapping my pollyfill in micropore tape I have achieved the desired dry rings that apparently indicate good FAE(and humidity?) which I never achieved with my two doomed tubs before this one. I think I had merely one hole with a dry ring, whereas using this method the tub seems to be dialed in perfectly.

I only used this method for the bottom holes so as to make them nice and tight.I was more blase about the top holes but they too have the desired dry rings so I'm kind of happy with this method as for me it has advantages!
I like the idea that I can pull them out and put them back again whilst retaining the same conditions inside the tub, takes a lot of farting around out of the equation. Kind of like pollyfill bungs!
Has anyone ever tried this method before?

Neat idea! I like it. I do find it a little annoying sometimes to get the lower holes tightly stuffed without having a big lump of polyfill hanging over the substrate on the inside.

quick update!
You can make out the dry rings if you look closely!
For me unlike with manually stuffing, it seemed to be dialed in perfectly first time and with very little effort!
I'm not sure though if I'm putting too much stock in the dry rings thing! At the end of the day its not rocket science but it sure as hell seems to make things easier!

I saw a link where z-man used panti hoes to put his poly in, then adjusted it by adding more or removing some of the polly. Im going to try this. What did you tape it with? paper tape?

No I used micropore tape, cause I thought breathable tape would allow more airflow. Lay out a long strip on a flat surface and then you can with two free hands tightly wind a huge glob of pollyfill into it.
Does seem to be working! Got me first pins today, I've consciously chosen side pins over black bin bags (no clear bags) as I'd much rather see whats going on!

Wouldn't this defeat the purpose that polyfill forms a perfect seal around the edge? The tape is going to leave millimeter gaps here and there between the plastic and bung.

Nah its a very tight seal because don't forget the bung was made bigger than the actual hole itself. At first my main worry was that it would be too tight, and that's also why I used micropore and not normal tape! Not sure if using regular tape would make a big difference though, and it might even be better in terms of longevity!
If you were using something similar on a grain jar then that would be cause for concern, but were talking fruiting conditions so I don't think its an issue!
I always had a frustrating time stuffing the bottom holes tightly and could never seem to get the dry rings that signaled the desired conditions (good FAE apparently). I also like the idea of having something that is more like an object that can be slotted in and used repeatedly whilst maintaining the same instant ready conditions! It will enable me to use these plugs again without having to spend time dialing in which as already said I found a pain in the arse!
The only evidence I have to show it works are the dry rings really, I just know other people always say that if a monotub is dialed in correctly it will exhibit these dry rings around the holes!

With monotubs, polyfill isn't a contaminant filter. Its only purpose is to restrict airflow through the hole in a predictable and adjustable manner. Millimeter gaps won't have any noticeable effect.

I'm going to go with a big negatory on that one. People switched over to polyfill from tyvek because tyvek is a less reliable contam blocker than polyfill. However I'm not interested in looking up all the posts that talk about it so don't bother challenging me to back this statement up.

Tyvek was never commonly used on monotubs.
