I live in Dallas so naturally all of my friends are bandwagon Ranger fans, and after game 2 they were already making plans for the ALCS.

 I'm a Twins fan but never expect too much from them lol, although they did almost sneak into the wild card this year.  My NL team is the Cubs though, not really a big fan or anything but since I grew up in the Des Moines area I used to go to IA Cubs games (AAA?) when I was a little kid.  Not that I remember that much haha, but hey what is being a "fan" of a team in the first place?  I'm not one to jump on bandwagons!  I always like seeing a well played game in any sport, but I digress.

I called it about a week ago - if the Cubs can win half their games when Arrieta isn't pitching, I'm picking them to win the WS.  I think Arrieta is straight unhittable and I love watching him pitch.  He's even got a nice lil 2 seamer like I used to throw.  I like seeing hard hit balls all over the field, and over the fence, as much as the next guy, but I also love seeing tight, well pitched games when most pitches are hitting their spots and making hitters look foolish.  'Da Cubbies got a shot!

Sec Taylor Stadium or Principal Park?

I listened to it on the radio and missed hearing Harry yell out Cubs Win!!! Cubs Win!!! Cubs Win!!!

They didn't have the 7th inning stretch tonight as they usually do at every home game. They needed a good guest.

Bill Murray is drinking a Budweiser just like the Bud Man Harry.

They do, just that when it's aired on a national channel they don't show it..
Gotta make that commercial money :bored: tradition be damned.

I must have missed it on the radio, but then again it wasn't on WGN. WGN sold out horribly recently, and now countless Cubs games will be whored out to cable outlets, thus depriving free viewing from the airwaves in Chicago. They even started broadcasting Sox game with the asshole Steve Stone, but I wont ramble on about Cubs/Sox Chicago fan relations here. Anyway, I think all Cubs fans hope and wish the "Wait Til Next Year" times are over.

I'm NOT buying MLB pass and they never show the Braves. It's bullshit.

You can always wait until the midway point of the season, and if the Braves are playing well and in the race -- I believe all of the cable & satellite providers offer a second half of the season subscription for half price.

I'll probably do that next season if the Tigers are playing well.

I think part of it has to do with the way I watch TV in the post DVR era. I used to put on the Braves kind of watched and did whatever, washed the dishes, took a nap, whatever. But with the DVR when I'm watching something if I go take a shit or post on the Shroomery or whatever I pause my TV. So when I watch TV I give it my full attention. Unless they speed the game up baseball just doesn't work as well for me as it used to even with skipping the commercials.

The thing that kills me about football is all of the fucking commercial breaks. Commercial breaks after punts. Commercial breaks after field goals. Commercial breaks after touchdowns. Commercial breaks after kickoff returns. Commercial breaks when a dude has a cramp. Commercial breaks after quarters. Commercial breaks after two minute warnings. Commercial breaks during reviews. And seemingly 9,000 other instances in which there are automatic commercial breaks.

Obviously some of the commercial breaks are warranted and necessary but for fuck's sake man, I feel like blowing my head off sometimes with all of the breaks.

But football has a clear demarcation when the action starts. When the ball is snapped. You can jump to that point quickly using a DVR. But with baseball you got all this out of the batter's box shit, nut scratching, bat choking, what-the fuck ever, then throwing the ball around the horn and just whatever. To each his own but Jesus and neither sport is half as bad as the last two minutes of a close basketball game.
