Quote:
Roseboro was involved in an altercation with Dominican pitcher Juan Marichal during a game between the Dodgers and San Francisco Giants at Candlestick Park on August 22, 1965.[1] Earlier in the game, Marichal had knocked down Dodgers Maury Wills and Ron Fairly with brushback pitches. When Marichal came up to bat against Sandy Koufax in the third inning, Koufax wouldn't retaliate, but his catcher, Roseboro, apparently wanted to. Roseboro returned Koufax's pitches dangerously close to Marichal's face (which is extremely difficult for a right-hand throwing catcher to do to a right-handed batter). Marichal responded by hitting Roseboro over the head with his bat two times, opening a two-inch gash that sent blood flowing down the catcher's face that would require 14 stitches. The Giants and the Dodgers, who nurtured a heated rivalry with each other dating back to their days together in the New York market, and who were both strong contenders for the 1965 National League pennant, cleared their respective benches and began a 14-minute brawl on the field before Koufax, Giants captain Willie Mays and other peacemakers restored order.

That man is just plain incredible....He, pretty much single handedly won the series last year. If they get there again...he'll probably pitch in every game.lol

Bumgarner just got a pinch hit single in the 7th inning! They seriously fucking used him as a pinch hitter.

With all the injuries they're digging deep just to have a starting lineup.

I don't have the thread but you can look it up by googling Tacoma Fresno ball girl.
It's a triple A game and this is the ball girl that sits in that chair in left field foul territory. Somebody smashes this ball that is a few feet foul and almost home run depth with a high wall. This girl takes off after it; she climbs the wall taking one step off the side wall and another off the back wall and reaches up and snares it. I didn't watch ESPN last night, but this was better than most web jem material.

Yeah that's incredible.
Speaking of pitchers hitting homers, Daniel Norris, a rookie pitcher for the Tigers, hit one to dead center last night against the Cubs in his first career Major League at bat. Also drew a walk against Lester, too.

That was fake, it was for a Gatorade commercial.
I used to go to go to Grizzlies games, they're not a Giants affiliate anymore though.

It's a fake How is it a fake? and who gives a fuck whose affiliate they are. Are you saying the video was faked and this didn't occur during Tacoma Fresno game?

...It's fake man, look it up. I don't know what else to tell you.
Quote:
" This much is true: on April 17, the Fresno Grizzlies hosted the Tacoma Rainiers in an evening contest at Chukchansi Park. And at some point in the ballgame, Tacoma's Brent Johnson came to the plate against Victor Santos and lofted a deep fly ball down the left-field line.
What didn't happen (at least not in real life) is the catch itself. The ball girl was a stunt woman, working on behalf of an advertising production agency that was filming a Gatorade ad. However, this particular campaign was scrapped before the commercial could make it to the airwaves. The ad was leaked online instead, where it quickly became a viral video sensation..."
"I've been getting calls from all over the country and our website has gotten a lot more hits over the past couple of days," he said. "It's funny, because there's really no explanation for why something like this catches fire. I think what helped the video find an audience is that it's really hard to tell that it was a commercial. With the logos removed and no voiceovers, it really does look like unedited game footage."

LOL...no...they hate the Jays because they tried to steal our GM while he was still under contract. I actually would like to see the Jays in it this year....they paid their dues...anyone except the Yankees or Red Sox. I do despise those two teams.
