I never thought LA would let him go.

Wow Dodgers! Either the new president is a genius or he just fucked up the team for a few years.

The Dodgers are making moves left and right. They trade Kemp and have to give the Padres 31 million to take him. LA had a surplus of outfielders, but everyone is still trying to figure out whether young star Puig is a moron permanently or just temporarily. So these days you have to deal based on salary and youth, but then they get Jimmy Rollins who is good but way past his prime, and pay 48 million for P Brandon McCarthy for 4 years, which only has a slight chance of being a good deal if McCarthy stays healthy. I know LA has a pitchers park and any average pitcher can look good, but McCarthy's career is below average. LA is going to get more prospects so it will take years to assess this set of deals.
I never hear about the Dodgers second baseman who lead the league in steals and triples.

I think the Dodgers just really wanted to strengthen up the middle infield with Rollins, which it does. McCarthy deal is a bad one and makes no since IMO for the same reasons Brian mentioned. And Kemp was unreliable. On the field, and was injury prone.

That's because they got rid of him and their current second basemen is Howie Kendrick. Howie is not likely to do that.

I don't think either Rollins or Kendrick is particularly strong defensively

I don't understand what the Braves are trying to accomplish this off season. Markakis? Why?

Rollins is a solid shortstop. I think it was a good move to pick up rollins, even if he is ancient.

The Kemp to the Padres trade is on hold because his physical showed "severe arthritis in both hips". If this trade is rescinded LA may also have to rework the trade to Philly for Rollins because one of the players LA was sending to Philly was coming from SD.
There might be a sense of urgency for making major moves but this shows why it's probably a good idea to make sure a big trade is official before making another big one.

Yeah what a weird situation. The Rollins deal is official...they just need a return in those prospects from the Padres lol
Reuben Amaro is constantly getting fucked lol

I hate both of them, but Justin had a monster year in 2014 and the turn around sucks for the Braves.

I'm totally cool with moving j upton. They had him for next year only anyway, and the Braves will suck in 2015 anyway. May as well get something for him. What do you think zappa?
