Quote:

Bumgarner, putting up numbers no pitcher in baseball history has ever done in a World Series, never gave the Royals a chance. He suffocated their offense by allowing four hits, with one baserunner reaching second base. It was the first World Series shutout since Josh Beckett in 2003, and Bumgarner became the first pitcher in World Series history to pitch a shutout with no walks and at least eight strikeouts.
He had the Royals so baffled that pinch-hitter Billy Butler stood in disbelief in the eighth inning, watching Bumgarner's curveball float over the plate for a called third strike — Bumgarner's sixth strikeout on a curveball for the game.
"That guy's phenomenal," Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas said. "When you think he's going to throw something, he throws the opposite.
"We're not happy with what we did tonight, but hey, you got to tip your cap."
It's not just the Royals. No pitcher has dominated the World Series like this 25-year-old.
Bumgarner has made four World Series starts in his career, won all of them, and now has a 0.29 ERA, giving up 12 hits and one run in 31 innings against three teams.

No one with at least 25 innings has had a lower ERA in the 110 years of the World Series
.
He's the first pitcher since Lew Burdette of the 1957-58 Milwaukee Braves to win his first four World Series starts.
"I haven't seen a better pitcher over the course of this postseason," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said.
Bumgarner is 4-1 this postseason, yielding seven earned runs in 46 2/3 innings, pitching at least seven innings in each of his five starts this month.
The only pitcher with a longer streak in the postseason was Curt Schilling for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2001.

Goddamn.

He's cold-blooded, man.

I like how 1-3 Giants starters are all southerners, in San Fransisco of all places.

Fucking superhuman.

The best part is homeboy went up to bat in the 8th inning with a 5 run lead, and he literally got angry with the umpire when he got called out on strikes. How often do you see a starting pitcher complain about the strike zone being too big???

Its all set up for a classic game seven. I hope its close. They are thinking that Bumgarner could get in for a couple late innings of relief.

I think SF will win but you have to hand it to KC for the kind of postseason they put together as a borderline wildcard team.

This game could easily go either way. I'm nervous about Hudson being on the mound, hopefully he can last a while. I'm sure Bumgarner will be giving Bochy an earful all night, begging to get into the game.

GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That double play by Panik was so fucking bad ass. Pablo, Pence and Morse were on fucking fire. Affeldt aced it. And Bumgarner, wow, just wow. He is a Baseball God, that's all there is to it.

Quote from Bumgarner's dad: "That boy would try to steal a steak off the devil's plate."

But yea, WORLD SERIES CHAMPS!!! 3 times in 5 years, wow. Does this qualify as a dynasty?

Wish I could go to the parade...

3 times in 5 years qualifies as a dynasty, and probably mean Bruce Bochy goes to HOF.
