Maaaan we're rolling.
Have you heard the news about Schwarber? All indications are that he'll be activated for the World Series. He deserves to be on the team, but do you throw off your groove that you just got settled into? Idk....I guess if he just plays DH then its win win.

I never thought I would be this excited about the Cubs. It's for my friends, but GO CUBS!. In this town, except for basketball and Hockey, we wait for lifetimes. The Bears usually get you one per life time. The Sox got one great one, and they also made it to the World Series when I was 2. But the Cubs; this is history!

I'm a little leary about him playing, even as a DH. Has he seen major league pitching since he got injured? Or just batting cage balls? If he's been practicing full speed, then I'd be OK with him as a DH, otherwise just let Soler or Contreras (depending on who is catching) take the DH role.
Also, PS.. Welcome to the Sports Forum. I'm glad you came

Hell yeah, I'm so pumped. I saw they painted the World Series logo on the field and I got goosebumps looking at it.
Depending on what the series standing is, I'll be down there either Saturday or Sunday night... I wanna be there if and when they win it, if they're able to do it in 4 or 5, that is.
I really hope they win it in town... That'd make it so much more special than winning it in Cleveland.. The way the team is now, I really think they're capable of a sweep, or at least a win in 5... I know Cleveland is no slouch, but this team is remarkable

He batted in the minors at least once, which means hes recovered fully from his injury, so it seems its just up to management to decide whether they think he can swing well enough at DH to help us.
I'm with you though, if it aint broke dont fix it. Much as Id like Schwarby to be on the field, Id rather get the win.

I have an issue..
Gf and I had plans for Friday. Halloween thing we do every year with her friends.. Something she looks forward to every year.
This one falls on Friday, same as game 3.
Shes upset that I'm leaning towards staying home for the game. Our relationship is already kinda rocky, so I'm pretty fucked either way.
How could I possibly justify missing a Cubs WS game?
She's not being very understanding here and it's upsetting me
What would you do? Risk fucking up the relationship, or see my team in the WS for the 1st time and possibly the last for awhile.
I'm so fucking torn here... Obviously I think I'm gonna stay home, because how the hell could a real Cubs fan miss a WS game..?

She's gonna be so pissed, but I honestly don't see how she can't see how important this is to me.
FFS, I took a ball out to my grandpa's grave and cried like a bitch leaving ball and telling him the good news. (he's the reason why I'm a Cubs fan)

Tell her there's no fucking way you're missing a single pitch. WTF? How the fuck could that even be a question? How long have you supported the Cubbies? You need to shut that shit the fuck down. That's fucking crazy.

It's bullshit that girls even get to pull that kind of crap. Can you imagine getting mad at her for something like that and holding it against her? No, you can't, because men aren't crazy.

Well I was able to dodge it last night, but she texted me today needing to know so she knew how many tickets to get..
So, yeah.. Curious to see how chilly it is in my house tonight.. Which really fucking sucks because this is supposed to be a fucking joyous time, not with this bullshit... Ain't gonna let it ruin the dream, though... 19:08 Central time, here we come
Edit... I love how they've been doing the time.. 19:08

If you asked me a month (year/decade) ago what it'd take for me to miss a Cubs World Series game I would've answered "an asteroid impact or my death"
Staying true to my word..
Now just need to make it down there for one of the games Fri/Sat/Sun and my lifelong obligations I set will be fulfilled. Would wanna be there when they win the whole thing... Gonna be so fucking crazy. Don't think I'd be able to get out of the city by the train (I take in) until the next morning. Would have to take a flask/bunch of beers, backpack, empty liter bottle to piss in and a few other items to make it through the night on the streets of Chi-town.. Unless Brian wants to lend me a couch
