Well.. Game 3 Bum vs Arrieta.
Who's gonna win? Im gonna call a sweep, but I actually know better than to call SF out of it, even now..

The Cubs did every thing they were supposed to do, which was go up 2-0 before they faced Bumgarner. So even if Bum works his magic, the Cubs are still ahead. The national media is making it into a foregone conclusion that S.F. wins game 3, but the Cubs are pitching Jake Arrieta, last year's Cy Young, so it's far from a sure thing.
I know Bumgarner got bumped out of the rotation because he had to win the Wildcard game, but when the Giants came out in game 2 with Jeff Smardzija it made me think. Those of us in town have seen Smardzija on the Cubs and the White Sox. He's pretty good, but he's not elite. So I'm wondering how deep the S.F. staff is? I'm not a fan but the Cub's staff is deep. Since they didn't have to go through the Wildcard, I'm guessing they will go back to the top of the rotation soon. It's common in postseason baseball to use a 3 man rotation. But if they start Lackey, he's not a weak sister.
Just cause the Cubs folded up before, doesn't mean it will happen this year. Other than the two starters from Boston, I don't think anyone on the team is old enough to remember when The Cubs were expected to lose. It's a very important psychological consideration.

That's nonsense. They did the same thing with Verlander then Panda came in and pwned his ass in game 1 of the WS.

About Shark.. Yeah, I was surprised that they had him so high in the rotation. Figured maybe he got his shit figured out since the last time I saw him.
And the younger players all know the Cubs curse... I just think they really don't give a fuck. They know they're talented and I truly believe they believe they can make the final run and win it all. God I hope so.
If they make the series I'll be taking the train down and hanging out on Waveland or Sheffield.. It'll probably be a mad house down there, but whatever.. Not sure if we'll be able to follow the game from the street though. (radio blasting?) I definitely wanna see the events take place, but really wanna be down there and be a part of it in some capacity. So, I'm torn on what to do... I'll maybe try sneaking in and hanging out in the standing room only areas wouldn't that be something, haha... I fear getting arrested and missing everything, though if I did that.

That was a dramatic game tonight. I can't remember ever caring that much about a baseball game when I didn't have a personal team in the hunt. The back and forth was tremendous, and the replay reviews were so close.

Talk about an emotional roller coaster, that game was intense. I don't think there was a soul in the world who saw it starting out like that, and I'm sure a lot of hearts sank with that home run. Giants somehow pulled it off though and they live to fight another night.
The offense really needs to show up early tonight. We can't hang it all on Matt Moore and we can't expect another late inning comeback. If he Giants do manage a win tonight, it will be Cueto for game 5 and you know he's gonna be pissed. 1 game at a time though, 1 game at a time.

That was one of the most hard fought games I think I have ever seen last night.
I wonder where Pence will be in the lineup tonight, he has been completely absent offensively.

I couldn't stay up for the game last night. Why the hell it has to start at 9:30 eastern is beyond me. I have to leave for work at 4:30 am, so no way I was staying up. Sounds like I missed a good one though.
