i dont know them in ireland basically everybody whose trippin will listen to electronic music you want weird differnet sounds because they hit you better when trippin you feel them and want to dance lyrics are just annoying i find you cant hear them properly or you just focus too much on what they are saying

If i was in ireland i would not listen to electronic music, it revolt's me severely when im tripping. Trip's are natural, earthy, and i crave natural...even preferably un amplified sound.
Lyric's can be insightful and hilariously confusing while tripping too.
Different stroke's for different folk's, i could list of a huge assortment of music i want to listen to while tripping, classic ska, jazz, swing, alternative and rock, percussion, and acoustic.
New model Army is an amazing band, and could lead to incredible insight and awesome vibe's while tripping, but if non-electronic music makes you feel as uncomfortable as electronic music make's me feel....then i understand.

I prefer 'organic' music, lots of vocals, not lyrics (at least not ones that are comprehensible), just sounds, African music, Celtic music, choral music, this sort of thing. Trance / ambient is OK, but anything else tends to bring to mind grubby back alleys and piles of trash!

Celtic can be very stimulating. At the moment im listening to a great band from the kootney's....The honeyman's...AWESOME band, they fuse funk/ska/celtic with very light punk influence into their music. Very upbeat and cheerful.
I cant say i have much celtic in my collection, perhaps you could recommend some?
Also, a song that actually really had impact on me on my last trip was The cowsills - I love the flower girl. There is no happier song, ever, EVER, i dont think its possible to not smile during this song. I was SOOO into it on my trip..

Nice, first mention ive seen of the Moody Blue's in a long time...I have a friend from Australia who sent me a couple Moody Blue's cd's...all recorded off original vinyl, fucking awesome.
"Just open your eyes, And realize, the way it's always been. Just open your mind And you will find The way it's always been. Just open your heart And that's a start." - The moody blues
Blue's traveler is a fantastic band aswell.

ltj bukem.... aphex twin but not his later stuff, saw 85-92 is the best ambient album ever imo and it is so calming great for the peak and for the comedown too.
i hate to say it but i dont really like to listen to most music when i am shrooming my nuts off i would rather be outdoors or in a dark room with reggae or ambient playing just at the threshold of hearing.
lsd is completely different for me though, when im dosed music sounds so much better its amazing especially music i already like.

during my most recent trip (thursday 8/14) i found myself playing Money on the bass, and that drifted to sublime then...some other tunes i was making up as i went along...it was pretty cool.

Here's some for ya that weren't mentioned, that get high recommendations from me:
Electronica: Members of Mayday (recommended song: Sonic Empire) Armin van Buuren (recommended song: Sunburn) Bjork (recommended song: The Hunter) BT (recommended song: Godspeed) Chemical Brothers (recommended song: Star Guitar) **Highly recommended for trippy goodness: Cocteau Twins (recommended song: Alice)** Clevland Lounge (recommended song: Drowning Micro Remix) Daft Punk ]EIB[ Bad Company UK (recommended song: Planet Dust) Dieselboy (recommended song: Beginning and Ending songs from Project Human album (aka Terminal Veloctiy) for some heavy drum n bass ) Sasha and John Digweed (recommended song: Distant Voices) Portishead (recommended song: Mysterons (live version good too))
Jam Band The Recipe (recommended song: Geode album! Some good songs include: Honeybee, World Swirl, Real Wild Cinema, Affected Specimen - This is one hella good band, if you don't have any of there songs, promptly smack yourself and get some!!!) Nitty Gritty Band (recommended song: Up on Cripple Creek)
Jazz Fusion Herbie Hancock (recommended song download: Black Gravity, The Essence)
Oldschool Fave's America Beatles Grateful Dead CSNY - Crosby Stills Nash and Young Doors Jefferson Airplane
Allright to sum it up, these are all groups that I consider good music. I know I stacked the deck in favor of Electronic / Drum n Bass, but they're my current thang. Even if the above bands don't fit your fancy, I recommend that ANYONE consider the following groups be put in their collection:
The Recipe - Must have for any true jam band lover. Essential.
Cocteau Twins + Portishead - Beautiful, not annoying singing, with a trancey kind of beat, good food for thought, sober or tripping.
EIB + Dieselboy - If you're a true Drum n Bass / Jungle enthusiast, you need their stuff. Period.
Herbie Hancock - Some of his best and most experimental stuff is on the Future 2 Future album. This is funky jazz, with Herbie also incorporating some turn tables and beats. Good stuff.
If I forget anything, I'll be sure to add it later. I believe this will at least get you folks on your feet and provide you with some new material to enjoy, so scaddidle, and get to it!!!

Has anyone tried The Polyphonic Spree? I mean, I haven't done any tripping yet, but the way it's slow, thoughtful and ambient to start with, and by the end becomes this huge euphoric sound, it seems kind of ideal, perhaps to put on straight after consuming the mushrooms so it'd kick in with the happy bit when you started feeling the effects of the drug.

Shalabi Effect - keep mentioning it whenever a thread like this pops up, seriously great stuff, all improvised but very free and organic...get 'The Trial of St. Orange'.
A Rainbow In Curved Air - Terry Riley from '69, a trippin' classis, no doubt, electronic, not spacey in a completely non-structured sense, hypnotic...

Had to register just to reply to this thread Sigur Ros - agaetis byrjun album at reading festival while tripping out on some Philosophers stones was the most amazing experience of my life. Just the music was so spiritual and the stars and the lights It was just the most euphoric amazing trip ever. I suggest you all listen to Sigur ros while on a trip.
