Girlfriend giving you HPV

So my girlfriend of 1 year gave me HPV.
She had it during the entirety of our relationship, but only realized what it was within the last two months.
She has had bumps in her pubic region for a little over a year. She talked to her gynecologist when they first appeared, and she said they were just skin tags. I always thought they looked just like warts, but I figured a doctor trained in that field would know better than me.
Two months ago, I had some "skin tags" appear on my pubic region. This freaked us both out.
Sooo, my girlfriend went to Planned parenthood to get a second opinion. Turns out they are genital warts/HPV.
I can't entirely blame her because she had a professional tell her otherwise; but I can't help but be fucking frustrated with the situation.
How would you guys handle this?

This is a toughy bro, Are u sure a gyno told her no in the first place? Double check that, even if it is painful.
I posted a thread on the anon forum. "how many of you have spread your std?" not a soul responded. The silence was deafening and revealing.
In the grand scheme of things you are ok bro, yeah u may get some bumps and that is unsightly, but u are not nasty.
Some of the top researchers in the field have always said that HIV was an ancient virus. That it has existed in the human genome since there was a human genome. I imagine HPV is just the same. In other words, it has always existed...and millions have been in your situation.
Good luck man, but u really dont need any. You are good.

I trust my girl, but that may be a good idea. If I contacted her gynecologist directly, would she even be allowed to tell me? I mean, I am directly involved in the situation; but I don't know if that gives me legal access to a client's info.
Honestly though, I'm not sure if I want to know that.

A ton of people have HPV. I'd just wear a condom and not worry about it as much. It really won't be too much of a problem until you are fucking other people anyways.
I'd think a professional would know what's going on. She probably lied about it.

Yeah there is no way a gyno would have mistaken genital warts for skin tags!! She was probably just embarassed to say anything. In denial & didn't want to face the problem. I know I would be mortified if I was told I had some shit, but can't imagine not being honest with my partner about it - it would weigh too heavy on my conscience. And no, her doctor will not be able to discuss with you anything about your girlfriend.

Dude hpv is no big deal, lots of people have it and aren't aware of it because it often doesn't show signs in men. Not a big deal and nothing you can do, wearing a condom won't do jack shit in the future for it either. Doubt she was being deceitful and the same shit happened with my girl once where one gyno got the diagnoses wrong and another got it right after we got a second opinion. Its way worse for a woman due to cervical cancer so you just have to let them know from now on, explain how common it is, you can even say you got it from your mom at birth or something.

Most girls now have hpv vaccines so don't worry about spreading it. N w.e hpv is common especially in men I'm pretty sure men don't show any symptoms of hpv they just spread it around bcuz this same thing happened to my friend he was fuckin his lady for like 2 years raw dog n the finds out she has hpv.
Idk I don't think hpv is a big deal.

Well I've got some very small warts around my dick, but not on it; so this variety of hpv does show up in guys.
I'm going to go get an STD test soon. My girlfriend has a promiscuous past, but said she was tested after the last guy she had slept with. After this though, I'm not sure what to think.

HPV is generally not a big problem, specially for men. Women, however, need to do a periodical pap test because they are prone to develop vaginal or cervical cancer because of certain types of HPV. Also, there is no real test for HPV, so smegzilla69 is wrong.
Enjoy life, and if you're going to break up with your gf, don't let it be because of this. The stigma with HPV is much worse than it really merits.

dead on the money. There is no test for HPV. The only test is visible signs...warts. Many variations don't even show these symptoms so it's impossible to tell.
Studies have shown that your immune system can fight off many strains over time. You don't necessarily carry HPV for life.
But get your warts taken care of, get a prescription cream or get them burnt off

"In most cases HPV goes away by itself before it causes any health problems, and most people who become infected with HPV do not even know they have it."
"nyone who is having (or has ever had) sex can get HPV. HPV is so common that nearly all sexually-active men and women get it at some point in their lives. This is true even for people who only have sex with one person in their lifetime."
"Most infected persons do not realize they are infected, or that they are passing HPV on to a sex partner. A person can still have HPV, even if years have passed since he or she has had sexual contact with an infected person. It is also possible to get more than one type of HPV. "

Hpv can be tested as its a virus and obviously is testable.

"The HPV test detects the high-risk kinds of HPV that can lead to cervical cancer. The test process is the same as it is for a Pap test — cell samples are taken from the cervix and sent to a lab for analysis." - THIS IS FROM YOUR OWN LINK!
it's a pap test. If abnormal cancer causing HPV strain is present, then it will test positive.
This is not a simple hpv test. Since men can't even have a pap test I would say I'm more right then you are.
when I go for the standard testing for all std blood test, they can't tell me if I have HPV or not. not unless I have symptoms...or get a pap

sorry she didnt tell you at first/: i had an almost similar situation. my ex was blaming me for giving him hpv when it was really his gf (she had it in the past as it was) so i got tested, and as soon as i found out that information from my ex i immediately told my partner at the time that there could be that possibility that my ex had given it to me (from him cheating on me all of the time). well i did not have it, and while i was in freak out mode at that time i read up on it. it is something that can go away, especially in men. and for the warts, they do have vaccines for them where you can freeze them off, get them surgically removed or take a medicine. itll take a few doses but im sure youll be fine(: HPV is one of the highest std's that people get. my friend even had it and its already gone. so, good luck!

I'd legit tell all future partners (if you and your girl dont make it) about your HPV because that shit may not cause anything bad for you, but the commercials on the TV tell me it can give girls certival cancer and all types of other bad shit.

I feel the same way. Who gives a fuck. My ex told me she had it, so I got checked out and the doctor determined that I probably had it too. Ive been honest with the girls ive been with since and we fucked anyways, all unprotected. All the girls i have been with over that 3 year span have not had hpv show up, or at least havent told me such. so I dont know if i have gotten through it or what. dont really care to be honest.
