That bag looks fine, use it. The best way to test if it's good or not is to break it up when you are preparing to spawn it, open the bag and then smell it. It should smell like fresh mushrooms of the species you are growing Next time, make sure you trap a good pocket of air inside the bag (in your SAB or in front of your flowhood, obviously). Your myc is probably a little oxygen starved.

This is off topic but has any had success with a stipe biopsy transferred to LC for cloning?
Here Farmer, enjoy... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/5874305#5874305
That's an awful tek
Here is how to take a proper clone OP.
I rarely ever get a contam on a clone this way

Ah, sorry i couldn't be of more help then. FrankHorrigan might know of an LC Clone Tek... But it's obvious he prefers Agar, as he should.
You can actually just use LC in place of the agar. It's a little more risky but I've gotten away with it before I started using agar. Just follow the tek and use two blades- one to cut the tissue from the center of the stem and the other to help manipulate it before you put it into your LC. You could just use one blade but sometimes the tissue likes to get tangled around the end of it and it's difficult to scrape off. Make sure to flame sterilize both blades before performing the procedure. Bring everything inside the still air box or in front of the hood. Wipe down the recieving jar with an iso soaked paper towel and loosen the lid of the jar a bit. Perform the excision of the tissue. Open the lid of the LC jar for as little time as possible. If need be you can wipe the loose tissue on the inner edge of the jar then close the lid tightly and tilt it carefully to submerge the tissue in the LC.
I think I'll add this information to the tek

Farmerwhite said: So you are saying cloning to LC is possibly there is just a higher risk of contam and when it contams it's hard to tell.
Yep
