They flower during Spring/Summer and the plant needs to be mature. That is, at least a few years growth from cutting or a plant of several years of age, and has been grown in ample light. Some people in low light areas report that they cannot get them to flower. Other factors may be an issue but mine flower after being grown for a few years.

I've got some "huachuma de Chavin" I just sprouted recently too. I've also got Los Gentiles seed. They seem like promising "heirloom" varieties.
Nice collection! I'm so excited to be moving to Southern Cali and being able to plant my collection in the ground.

The Chavin seeds sprouted quickly and well. I've also stared some Kimura's GiantX SS02 seeds from the same supplier that had great germination rates. Their seed seems to be pretty to notch.

I still have yet to see any Trich flowers in person. I have a few Peruvian Icaros I would like to cross. they seem like the seedlings would be exquisite.

ive recently purchased a san pedro from the local lowes,
and this one is different,
out of some areoles, it throws out a random spine at least an inch long,
is this normal for them?

Not likely. Maybe peruvianus. They have a habit of mislabeling sometimes. And gluing those gay ass flowers to them.

Those fake flowers..very infuriating to see one glued on top of an otherwise healthy specimen. I'd love to glue some ridiculous looking hats on the head of the person that came up with the idea.

Nothing like that feeling of the first day you're able to bring your cacti out of the closet for the winter and into the full sun for the first time in 7 months.
Also nothing like doing that and finding your one bridgesii started pupping way earlier than you thought possible.
ooohh yeah. I am one happy camper right now.
