Your raid experience

I know a few members on here have been raided - it would be helpful if you would talk about your experience, how the police searched your area, how effective were the dogs, did they rip apart the walls, etc. There is surprisingly little information on the web regarding raids.
You don't have to give details that would identify you and you can post anonymously.

I was standing outside of a house that was raided. They Laid us all on the ground with shotguns and cuffed everyone and search briefly for what they are looking for, then they look deeper of they don't find what they came for. I had nothing to do with the situation as it was a duplex and I was there for the neighbor. I got cuffed and questioned though. I was 16 maybe. It was over in a half hour.

Thanks guys - can you give a little more detail as to the extent of which they tore stuff up? Did they rip apart the walls? Did they pull up floor boards? Did they bring in the dogs?

I was raided proximately 5 years ago in the bible belt. Sheriffs obtained a search warrant for a cannabis grow operation. I had 4 plants outside in my very rural backyard. I'm 99.9% sure the tip came from a helicopter. The details of the search warrant claimed an informant had been in my house and observed a large amount of marijuana in the back room of the house. Warrant claimed they came to the house and could hear a fan within the room from outside the room window. Warrant claimed fan would blow the curtain enough to observe what was inside the room. Warrant claimed there were 8 monotubs that they could see condensation on. Police believed these tubs were full of MJ....
The truth: they did peek into my back room window and see the tubs. They had actually removed the outside storm window to gain access to the room. I was young, dumb and did not have a lock on the window. I was living in a VERY rural area at the summit of a mountain to be exact.
*raid happened* I was immediatly woken by my dog. I got up to see what he was freaking out about. There were 2 malibu unmarked cars that pulled into my driveway and parked in my front yard behind some bushes. Very odd. The people that exited immediately looked like gestapo. I thought, "holy fuck, im going to jail". I observed the police as they immediatly started walking to my back yard and went straight to where the outdoor plants were. My dog was barking at them through a window. During this time, they had sprayed my dog with pepper spray. Shortly after this, I could no longer breathe and had to exit the house. With the 3 sheriffs in my backyard, I decided to exit the front of the house and plan my next move. I successfully exited the house and camped in an abandoned barn directly across the street. I watched the police for 2 hours. After talking to some friends on the phone, they had encouraged me to get whatever was in the house and flush it. I could see the cops were in the backyard busy. I entered the house through the front door. The entire house was completely ripped apart. It looked as if a tornado had went through my house and threw everything on the floor. I went into my bedroom and saw my small safe had been moved to the middle of my bed. My safe contained a large amount of cash and a headi stash of different candy...
I grabbed the safe, ran out the front door and hid the safe in my front yard ditch which was full of 3' tall weeds. The safe was literally 10' from the police cars now. After sucessfully stashing the safe, I entered the house again. I locked the door. I walked into my kitchen when a sheriff saw me. He pointed his handgun at my head while another sheriff kicked in my front door.
The extent of the raid was not that deep. No walls were smashed. They never found the safe which helped pay for my attorney. The police never found the 8 small clones growing in dixie cups in the crawl space under the house. There was a door under the porch which led to the crawl space. The clones were there when I got out of jail 2 days later.
I had been a mushroom grower for well over a decade. I've not grown a psychedelic mushroom since. I learned a great deal and have become a strong person. If anyone has any specific questions, I will be more than happy to answer.
Thanks and that is my story of real life events.

Damn #2. Sounds like you had an okay setup (rural, top of a mountain, decade + of success) that got ruined possibly by a bad choice to grow outdoors.
That sucks.
Is there any way their story could have been legit, or that they could have been tipped off some other way? I'm just curious. Your version here sounds pretty plausible to me.

yeah I fucked up huge. Stupid. Now my life is fucked as far as employment goes. There goes that higher education degree.
It was the chopper the day before. Luckily I was able to get most of the boomers out of the house. They did find 4 ounces on a food dehyradtor, though. Which forced me to plea to manufacturing...

I wasn't personally raided , but I was in my boys crib , smoking and they kicked in his door. I knew it was going to happen , there was a humongous RV , like a musicians tour bus , parked outside his apartment in various spots on the block for about a month before this happened. It looked super suspicious to me being in the Bronx...he always told me it was his neighbor though and he was traveling...I still think it was surveillance. Anyway they kicke in the door ran through the house real quick , there was maybe a handful of them and it was a small two bedroom apartment on the frst floor. They tore the house up , but didn't break any walls or floors or but into the mattress or anything. More of just a clumsy rummaging through all the dressers and closets and shit. Luckily for my boy he owned the apartment literally right next door as well , and kept his safe and work there. Unfortunately for my boy he was about to get up and make a sale , and got caught with the coke on him and caught a felony charge. I got let go at the precinct , with no charges. I thought for sure I was in serious shit or they would at least charge me for the weed , but no. There was me and two others that got let go. My boy got locked and his wife and son had to move because they couldn't pay the rent without him.

Damn, I would freak the fuck out in his situation. If I got locked up, My wife and son would be in the same situation. Sitting in jail for some stupid choice that provided nominal gain knowing my family is starving without me.
Thinking about things like this really puts shit into perspective. We go our lives thinking what were doing is safe And good for us. But there is a force in this world that disagrees, And theres nothing you can do to fight it... Except getting a god damn lawyer. You whole life ruined by a bang on a door. Its hard to believe they have a right to do that...

No, man. There are so many things you can do without going to school these days - not to mention online credited courses. Just study programming or something. Countless ways to make money independently with that shit.

Agree 100%. I thought my life was over after getting a felony on my record but now I'm self employed after getting turned down at interviews countless times and loving life now. What I thought was the worst mistake I made turned out to be beneficial to me in the long run. It's all about what you do with those lemons you're handed in life.

They should do a more raids that way - So much safer for everyone than kicking the door down while the suspect is sleeping.

They did it this way because they knew I had guns in my home along with pitbulls. And also an officer had been killed in our town a couple weeks prior serving a warrant on a guy in his home.

Do you think they would use choppers to look for plants in a more urban setting? I'm sure it would be difficult to identify them...and where i'm from most cops dont care that much about small marijuana grows. They have much bigger fish to fry.

Choppers in an urban setting is pretty unlikely, if they suspect you growing in your back yard theyd just peep over the fence. Now there might be choppers with FLIR devices attached to check a lot of houses at once for unusually high heat signatures.

Agreed. 100%.

Well that explains that one. It only takes one of their own getting killed, for them to implement sensible policies. How much do you want to bet they'd still be kicking doors in if it were the homeowner who got killed in that raid instead of one of their precious cops?
