I really must be doing something wrong, went for my first tassie hunt today Didn't come up with anything, after walking around for over 3hours, well any actives anyway. Good bit of exercise though. I'll just keep looking. Determined, since my last experience was when I grew my own 3 years back. ^_^

Yes Gymnopilus junonius. They are iuncredibly common on farmland Eucalypt stumps this time of year and grow to giant proportions.

I suspect your unknown, photo 3 and 5 it looks like Stropharia semiglobata, but by photo 4 may be a Panaeolus sp..
Love the first and last of the subs, they are georgeous.
The Macrolepiota procera is cool too.
Cheers, Ob.

Very good,
While i havent looked this year, in the past few years i have found them along the sandy edges of beaches, childrens playgounds, and walking tracks and roads next to the shore.
These things are veritable weeds and will grow wherever possible as long as a good substrate is present.
Cheers, Ob.

G'day folks, went for a walk early this morning, hunted various areas in the north of the state, yesterday saw a nice patch of rain in my area followed by intense hail, curious what effect if at all hail has on mushrooms popping up the following day? from what i have gathered cold snaps are good? but can frost prohibit mushrooms from breaking he surface? thinking about heading out for another walk in the afternoon once all the ice and remaining hail melts, however i did find multiple specimens, requesting ID's on any that ring a bell! any help would be greatly appreciated and happy hunting (sorry about the quality of some of the images, despite using marco settings i still failed to get sufficient detail in some) il be sure to take the dslr next time! oh and sorry for just ripping these bad boys out il be sure to take scissors next time

The majority of my patches are located within 100 metres from the beach. Not in the sand, but just around walking tracks and parks.
