I find drying with any heat (even small amount) can deteriorate the potency. I like the DampRid and Fan approach. takes about 3 days to be snapping dry.

Agreed with the fan dry method. Still got last years in a fowlers jar and they're fine as fine can be.
Meh, so lazy this year, last year I lived somewhere down the river and just had to walk for ten minutes to get em, now I'm back in town and can't be assed yet. Still, two months to get my years supply, should be plenty of time.
I bet the Amanita's are blooming down the channel like nobody's business once again.

Decided to have a brief first look today and found these two rather hagged-looking subs. Well I think they're subs anyway. Thought I'd post 'em up just for fun and not really for identifying but also thought maybe someone may just wanna confirm the little one. Crappy pics I know but thought I'd share anyway!

Peace and happy hunting.

Last year I dried just over a kilo of wet subs in a food dehydrator, took only a few hours on the lowest setting meant for herbs and shiz in the low 30's C temp range. Following that they were put in jars and just kept in a dark dry location, lasted up until about 2 months ago.
I've tried using damp rid with no real success.Seems simple enough but perhaps there's something i'm missing. From my understanding it's only really good for small batches. Any recommendations/ tips on the best way to dry a larger batch using damprid/fan to a point that they will keep in jars?

When you say they lasted till about 2 months ago, are you saying they went off or were eaten?

I think only the larger is a sub. take some pictures in natural light, and try to get them in focus, hold your camera farther back and put it on something sturdy so it doesnt shake while your taking pictures.

I fan-dry the shrooms thoroughly, then place them in a large airtight container with the damprid to get that last bit of moisture out. Seems to work for me.

Dry them in the dehydrator until cracker dry and then store them in an airtight jar with a small bag of damprid.
I've still got 10 grams or so from last year stored this way and they are just as good now as they were when first dried.

They were consumed, lasted perfectly in the jars. I think i'm going to give the open oven on a low temp a try also.

I just get a few news papers and separate some sheets of paper into about 5 sheet piles place them on the floor for how ever much room I need for the amount of shrooms then fan em for 2 days, works perfect every time.

7. No requesting or revealing specific locations. Locations NOT allowed: Business names, government buildings, shopping centers, pasturelands, when specific directions are given to a location, or any place with an address. Use common sense about what might be considered a specific location. When in doubt, do the moderators a favor and just don't say it.
