Learning to cultivate
    #1806232 - 08/12/03 05:11 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Hi everyone, I don't really have anything exotic growing... but I do have a little story and a picture

First the story, I decided that my cats needed their own grow operation (nepetalactone ), so I bought a package of catnip seeds and set them in a pot. This is the first time I've really grown anything on my own in terms of plants, I was excited when I checked back and noticed little shoots coming up out of the dirt. We have a greenhouse on our property and I stuck the pot outside in the greenhouse.

Over the weeks I would come out to the green house and notice one of my cats was always hanging around inside it... I thought it was just sleeping in the warm sunny place! After noticing that my catnip was not really growing very much at all... I put two and two together, cat hanging around greenhouse with catnip trying to grow... She was eating all the sprouts before they got a chance to get any bigger! I took the pot inside and stuck it on a windowsill, and now the few remaining sprouts are finally growing larger, though I caught her chewing one again!

I also planted a little box of cacti... just a "variety" mix, to see if I can grow them. Here is a picture today, I started this a few weeks back from seeds
