Nice find!

Do you think these were growing with pine or some other tree?

The first 2 I found( not pictured) were directly under a pine tree comin up through the needles. The rest were found under willows with a few pines here and there and many madrones around. South west facing slope. im excited for more!

They seem to love the willows in this particular spot. Never found them under em besides this spot.

I'd suspect the madrones, they definitely produce morels.

I don't know if willows do.  I checked a morel spot yesterday that is 100% poplar.  It was a bit early there.

They are rarely directly under the madrones.sometimes tho. But almost always directly under the willows. Comin up through the leaf litter pretty close to the base of them.

Really Madrones?
I have lots of those here, We have no poplars, elm, or pine out my way. I can never find a habitat that supports morels...
Maybe this year...

Yes, for sure.    They come up by the hundreds in stands of madrone after a fire and occasionally fruit with no fire.

The area I found these was an old burn from like 8 years ago. Prob has somethin to do with it. Normally the apple, cottonwood, poplars are the best producers this way. But this spot been good 3 years in a year now.
