Greetings All,
*Recently I was banned for posting this sensitive information in the pub as many shroomerites thought that I was merely advertising for a website that I developed. I am only attempting to get out the information below, so if any admins think my post is out of place please give me a warning before banning me, or feel free to move this post to a more suitable environment.*
Okay so to get to the subject: How to Legally Legalize Cannabis.
We have seen that both Colorado and Washington have done it so we know that it can be done by working with the current system that we have in the states. So for those of us who have the common sense to see that cannabis can benefit this country more if it is legal have to ask: what do we do?
After doing some political field studies I have discovered that to pass certain rules or laws by vote, you don't even need a majority. All you need is a tightly organized and dedicated group who understands the specific regional avenues that must be taken to change current legislation.
Understanding this, I developed the basic framework for what would be a cannabis legalization network located at www.getwiselegalize.org. This site if it recieves enough traffic and the necessary contributions to maintain the servers could potentially be a place where cannabis activists can unite and organize a strategy for pushing through new legislation for cannabis laws.
You don't need to be politically savvy to sign up, what is important is that if you believe in this idea that you sign up and tell your friends. This site could potentially display the real time statistics of cannabis supporters in the USA and organizes them according to their voting capability and state.
In the future if this site succeeds in recruiting users and contributions, the intention is to build a full blown social networking system where political candidates can be endorsed and new legislation proposed and voted on within our network.
Essentially this site would be a democratic system which represents the political will of it's user-base and empowers the voice of the community who utilizes it.
Check out our site and tell us what you think of our idea and feel free to give us suggestions about how to make our site more user friendly. We are also looking for ways to reach out to people so anybody who can help us with this please let us know here on the forum!
Our current hosting service expires on the 15th of march 2013, if we can't raise the contributions to maintain the servers the site will have to be taken off the web. If you believe in this idea help us out, we won't let you down!

isn't this what 420 is for? global 'protesting'/smokeday
but people usually just toke and get stoned and forget to protest/make their points
a better way would be to contact politicians directly, that is usually possible
if enough people do that they would have to research their stuff to answer
I think I went to one 420 once, but it was mostly about smoking

But it annoys me that one cannot smoke freely outside, it is insane
Here we get a $350 fine for a half gram of hashish or a joint , for smoking in public
Your site is only for people in the US it seems, would like to support it and perhaps put the logo on a few domains, if it supported other countries than the US too
good project anyway
peace

Hey folks been pretty busy the past few days but I'm finally able to get back to everyone.
March 15th was actually a typo, not a copy and pasted piece of info (I've been super busy so maybe you can cut me some slack on this one). The accurate information is that the site will run out of hosting time on April 15th 2013. (again my apologies)
In response to Lord McLovin:
Yes I have heard of NORML, and it seems that they have good intentions for helping facilitate the process of legalization. However I don't think they (or anyone else for that matter) currently have the networking capabilities to facilitate legalization. By using a social networking system cannabis activists from around the world could simultaneously interact and decide what political strategies to take for legalizing cannabis (contacting representatives, elect new representatives into office, etc...). Currently NORML may be headed in this direction but there is still no unified place where cannabis activists go to decide specifics of policy according to their regions.
In response to mio:
Yes! the idea is that this network could potentially go viral on that day (april 20th)! However I am currently out of money to host this site and would need at least a small user-base willing to contribute at least a few dollars in order to maintain the hosting in case of such an event. The idea is that this site could be used as a hub for cannabis legalization (at this point in the USA).
To address your point about the international user-base, this site/idea could potentially grow into an international system where all other countries and their sub-regions are mapped out. This just would take more time than I currently have available. If this site does pick up some speed and receives enough contributions, we could map out various other regions of the world and be even more regionally specific with our statistics.
All in all this idea in itself is very big and is in my mind the next natural step for all forms of activism regardless of subject matter. If we can all work to get the word out this system could be democratically utilized to facilitate cannabis legalization and make the benefits of cannabis available to everybody!
