First ever cubensis grow: Brazilian monotub [Complete 4/22]

First grow, and I'm all aflutter watching these guys fruit!
I spawned 2 quarts of MS Brazilian to coir/verm that had been prepped with Damion50/50's bucket tek on 2/26, then put the tub to fruiting on 3/18. I've been misting and fanning 1-2 times per day since then. And today:
The pinset was even more uneven at first, but it looks like the sparser areas are beginning to catch up.
This is the cluster in the center-right of the previous pic. They're only ~2cm tall, but it seems that the veils are already breaking. Sign of a dry sub, perhaps?
I'm excited! Feedback and comments welcome.

Nice pins, they appear to be reacting to over-misting. It's as though they've been misted repeatedly, and not been allowed to dry. They look waterlogged (dark color, premature veil, areas breaking).

So awesome. I'm jealous, can't wait for my jars to finish colonizing ;D.
I haven't done a monotub yet, but from my research the veils breaking on smaller fruits could indicate a lack of FAE and light, but I haven't read anything about dry sub causing this problem. What kind of lighting do you have for it? Maybe try loosening up some of the polyfill too?
edit: maybe not though, because I believe the caps would be much smaller if it was from lack of FAE/light

Hm, I thought that I was letting them evaporate sufficiently between mistings… Guess I'll back the misting off a bit, and maybe loosen the polyfill to aid evaporation.

I have a fluorescent 5000 ˚K (I think) light on a 12 on, 12 off cycle.

Also Brazilians don't grow very tall, they grow more quantity than large fruits.

Yes, honestly this monotub of mine is my first ever grow. I did a lot LOT lot of reading and it seemed like PF tek required much more work with the constant fanning/misting than a nice relatively set & forget monotub. Hell, if I'm gonna be doing shroom related work everyday, I want to get rewarded with more than what pf has to offer

I sort of skipped pf tek. Made all my jars. Figured out I bought the wrong size jars. Said screw this and bought a pc.

PC = Pressure Cooker
Awesome work for your first grow!
I unfortunately started off with an nonviable print that came from the UK, im in the US, so i was discouraged with nothing at all, not even contam growing on any of my pf cakes lol. I'd done plenty of research but somehow hadn't really looked into grain yet as I assumed (WRONG) that it was more complicated and more work. Finally got something viable to work with so I'm actually doing pf and grain jars at the same time. Figured if it all worked out I'd just make print off the pf cakes and then harvest the grain crop before the veil breaks to shoot for higher potency and to void putting the myc in die-back mode from the caps sporulating back onto the sub.
I hope everything turns out well! Keep the pics comin.

An update! I've read about cubensis developing quickly, but watching it happen in real time is pretty neat. Pics from this evening:
I've loosened the polyfill, and haven't misted them today. One of the more mature caps is still splitting, though (you can just barely see it on right of the shot of the cluster). I'm thinking that is due to it still being a little wet. Many of the veils are breaking now, so I'm guessing that I'm in for a dwarf harvest.

Yes, the waterlogging which took place previously tends to have an irreversible impact on the fruits. They often crack after being over saturated. Here is a fine example, these caps remained wet for far too long, and they cracked pretty bad. (typically cracking is from dry air, but not always, as you've clearly seen)
Even after conditions were brought to an optimal level, they still continued to crack, due to a previous waterlogging.

A little update.
The total take from the first flush was ~15g dry. There were numerous pins that were laying dormant, but after I harvested their neighbors they took off. These new ones seem to be in general fatter and thicker than the first ones. We'll see if that equates to a bigger take this time around…
Quite a number of the undeveloped mushrooms have this odd white/yellow patch on the cap which looks to me like bacterial blotch. Anyone know what's up with them?

I would recommend dialing in your tub and setting-n-forgetting for your next project. As you have seen, misting a mono on the first flush causes some issues. If you want to mess with a dialed-in tub on the first flush, just fan it once every day or two
