It's hard to say for sure. They look like some nice and healthy Trichs. Look like pachanoi or bridgesii, but really they're likely to be a hybrid. Either way, they're beautiful specimens

It looks like something is nipping at my cactus
Can anyone identify the cause of these lighter marks?

edit: these are san pedro and the first should is incorrectly focused on the column. the marks I'm referring to are on the pup and tip of the column.

I don't see any major problem there.
There can be any problem possible or no problem at all.. Would be nice to tell about history with photo like what kind of fertilizers you use, where it grows, are these come by spreading or suddenly? ..
I have similar style scars on san pedro but they have not spread or anything and I don't have paid attention to them, just discolored skin seems old damage or something, sometimes regular trichocereus get these black spots and then they leave scars to cactus skin when they disappear by itself.
If growth tip are resistant when you use pressure by pressing it with fingers, then they are just an old scar from something.
Seems your scars has grown out already but cannot say cause you have not write are these spreading or not?
It can be infection too or frost bite/burn by light bulb/etc..
Tell the history of these how the scars has been come to cactus.. If these pale areas are soft and starting to turn blackish it can be rotting or recovered rot. Would be nice to try help if you tell more than show pictures cause history behind the picture is important to give advice cause in worst case advice can make situation worse.
I see still healthy san pedro, if problem keeps spreading on top, cut top away. If there is none of spreading on that kind of markings, just let it be.. Have you check the pests?
How about soil or fertilizers? Maybe too much/less fertilizers?

How long would y'all wait before removing the tape to check on the graft's success?

Some of the markings leave a little bit of an indent--they aren't flat on the surface of the cactus--while some of the same, but differently located markings, are flat on the surface of the cactus. It does not seem that by pressing my finger on the markings that those areas are any less turgid than the surrounding green area.
It has been raining quite a bit recently though I would have expected rot to be at the base of the column or beneath the soil rather than at the top, away from any potential standing water.
I have each of them planted in a mix of and medium rocks with no fertilizer. There are some large and small rocks forming a base at the bottom of the pot and each pot has holes in its bottom.
I had not considered pests. I do believe butterfly and moth eggs are starting to hatch and I have recently moved the location of the plants, so it is certainly something to consider. What would you suggest doing to test this?
Regarding their recent move: We have gone from a location closer to the lake with more moderated temperatures to a region more close to elevated terrain, and so towards more temperature extremes. However, the move was less than 30km and the relative climate is close to unchanged and I do not believe temperatures have dipped below freezing.
These cacti receive full sun throughout the morning and, as of recently, are losing sun by mid to late afternoon as cloud cover forms. No artificial lighting has been used.

6 days should be plenty for it to form a solid connection. I check on mine 5-7 days after grafting usually.

I believe it is. The person i got them from said that end in the soil was the bottom. I also saw a post about the growth pattern that forms a V and that if it points up like so ^ then it's upside down.
I'll take some better pics when I get home from class.

I apologize for a shoddy camera phone pic but it looks to me like the V is pointing down.

It's the correct way up. Or down, depending on perspective.
@Got: remember the blackboard from Mr. Squiggle? When I see un upsidedown Tricho I hear "upside down!" In my head.
