Yeah, Scops caught my attention because it looks beautiful and friendly. I think scops got into my psyche because there was a good deal on popular auction site. I didn't bid on it because it wasn't in the states.
Hey man i got my favorite from spain. Go on and live alittle.

Scopulicola are hard to find in the US. I know they are big in Australia. But I defiantly agree. There is something kind of cool about them having even shorter spines than Pachanoi.

You xan find them in the US just not as abundant as in Oz. I got mine from a vendor in spain. 4 ribbed but scopulicola is notorious for dropping ribs. I got an SS scop that recently lost a rib.

My neighbors cactus finally flowered. I've been eyeing it for a few years but never went over to ask for a cutting. I couldn't pass up trying to get some pollen though.

Nice catch. Must've been a large mother. Four flowers to collect pollen, and a T peru cutting with vibrant color. It was a good day.

I had to use his ladder to get to the flowers. There were more flowers and even more flower buds.

Psycho0 and J3 are 2 of my favorites so far though I don't see them around much, I have a hybrid of them though which is a beauty. Anything crossed with SS02x01 will be nice as well.

Stupendous-Yappi, how are you going to process those pollen for preservation? I read about storing tricho pollen few weeks ago. I think I read tricho pollen needs to be dried properly and shelf life is about nine months.

I cut off the anther tips, put them in a small cup and stretched some poly film over it. Hopefully it will dry out enough that way without the pollen blowing around.
I still need to find a technique that works. I've tried using those sterile medical 'q-tips' before but didn't have any luck with Trichs. I was barely able to get Cerues fruit though. In hindsite the pollen probably gets stuck in the cotton tip.

Question about a cutting.
My TBM cuttings (long form) have been potted for a long time and they're starting to feel soft from dehydration.
I checked them today and they have a nice cluster of root nodes shooting out from the bottom.
But, the part of the cutting that was under dirt is starting to turn yellow (which I hear is normal) and is a lot more dehydrated and softer than the upper part of the cutting. It doesn't seem to be rot (I don't really know) and it doesn't smell funny and the roots are kickin'. Is this a condition known to happen while rooting or do I need to watch these like a hawk to catch the inevitable rot when it pops off??
