Here's some cuttings that are still building a thick callous before being planted. You can see the lopsided growth on some of them.

It already has dipped down into the 30's here
And I still have most of my plants out, it's supposed to stay in the 40's for the next week though and be sunny so I am debating putting off moving most a bit longer....
I really need to buy some greenhouse plastic too and set up another warm winter spot as I don't think all my cacti will fit in my little greenhouse with my big kratom tree.

I would just move them now.
What's worth more?
1. Keeping you cacti looking good in the event of an un-forecasted/microclimate drop in temp?
2. Getting a tiny bit more growth before the inevitable move to protection?

I have been meaning to at least start moving them. But it's already hit 37f or so and the next week is all in the 40's so I am not too worried. It also stopped raining finally
Actually I already moved a few just to be safe, like my big TBM. But it's a daunting task moving them all especially the heavier ones
Like I said I really need to make some more room still as well before I can even move them all.
I lost a few big PC pach last year to test how long they could handle the cold. They were fine until it started freezing regularly

I have not. I would like to see what you got going on though. Yeah man me too. After this fishing tournament I'm going hopefully sow the rest of them. 200+ more packets. Daunting task lol

Oh dude.. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24138470 They’ve all grown more since the last update too I’m in the midst of condensing containers and reporting and amending soil and whatnot before putting them in their winter location, I’m in Canada and we have a depressingly short growing season. I need to set some lights up ASAP.

Very nice! With a the passion you are growing cactus what are you doing in Canada? Down here they grow near year round mid november-mid February the growth slows a lot but they never fully go dormant and cease all growth. I'm hoping the rest of these seeds I'm about to sow will make it through winter and rocket off come spring

The growth tips on these peruvianus look so nice this time of year. These photos are from two no name landscape perus I got a few years back. They're growing in nicely now.

I've had the best success with keeping them exposed to indirect light and picking them up and gently handling them daily. You want them to feel stress, but you also want them at maximum health. I would never keep them in total darkness.
From what I can tell, all strong cuttings are bitter, but some weak cuttings are too.
accurate, +1, aged in indirect light, ALWAYS more potent then fresh harvested,
yup, non bitter cacti are NEVER active, ever, but some bitter ones arent either.
the only thing here im 100% sure of, is that if your cactus reminds you of a cucumber, DONT eat it.

My SS02 x Serra Blue toppled over. Might have been some curious wild hogs. I've seen a pack and lots of deer wandering through the property. They are not hungry enough to eat on them though. Plenty of grass, berries, acorns, pecans, etc for them to eat. I'm going to have to put up a strong high fence when I do a garden next year. Since I don't live at the property yet I'm going to set up the veggies, fruit, and kratoms on automatic watering for the days I work and cannot get out there to water. I have a 275 gallon water tote for rain water/compost tea. Going to run a pump for circulation/oxygen and a pump for flowing water to the garden. Unless I split the discharge of one pump and run it back to the tote for aeration and the other line for flowing water. Anyone have any experience doing this? Drip lines vs soaker hoses? I work at a chemical plant that has miles of piping, hundreds of pumps, reactors, heat exchangers, columns, etc. So I'm pretty well versed in pressures and flowing through pipes.
Here's a picture of the piece SS02 x blue serra I cleaned up from being broken off.
