I would say kellermanii looks the closest, pere-wise, but the pic in this link is literally identical to what i have.

what you posted is quiabentia zehntneri, i have it and it is darker and has different leaves compared to "jumbo peres". Please, post more pics of your jumbo peres.
Here there is some discussion about it

I'm looking into more succulents like quiabentias, pereskia, and pereskiopsis varieties I don't have for grafting trichos. Anyone ever see pereskiopsis seeds for sale? I know they rarely flower or produce seeds and that's why we all buy cuttings. I'd like to get a bunch of seeds and look for desirable mutations. I don't even know if this is possible but it seems like a cool idea to me.

Hey, im still alive it turns out!
This is a cactus that belongs to me, it is a gift from a friend out in Cali, literally drove across the entire country and it was the gift he sent with me.
We call this plant Bridgesii cv "E.T."
It obviously stands for extra terrestrial, if you're wondering why we gave it this name see my trip report. May not be the most potent tricho i've had, but it's the most impressive by FAR.
Bridgesii c.v. "ET" ------

I will be spending the rest of my life propagating this clone (i think he said its a cut from a 7 year old seed grown bridgesii, my experience involved the bottom of this many feet long (not anymore lol) column.
.... You guys know that "Holy shit, i finally found it" feeling?
Lol, i thought i did too....
Seriously though, this cactus is ridiculous. It's also one of the coolest looking bridgesii i've seen, Definitely the bluest. And the spines hold a vibrant yellow color that fades to a pink, rather then greay or brown color. And the best part, was its VERY potent even un-aged, and will grow 2-3 feet a season no problems.
I can;t even imagine this plant left to age a few months before brewing it
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
And here is a screen shot of a mature pup from a Short spined Matucana looking plant i have a cut coming from in the very near future, cant wait to have it in hand. He isn't sure what it is, and neither am i, thinking it's a crossover species somewhere between pachanoi and peruvianus.. Probably just gonna call it short spined peru or long spined pach. Bioassy and the effects will likely determine which i lean towards. If noticeable scondary alkaloid activity is present ill call it long-spined pach, if not, then short-spined Peru.

This one looks matucana as FUCK. That's what makes me want it, if you refuse a cut that looks like it's from the matucana region, you are either a fool, a madman, or quite likely both.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Remember what my lumberjack x LER seedlings looked like back in March?
a bit like this.

They look like this right now tho...

Got a couple weirdos in there (maybe, will likely correct as they grow, but one can hope)
FAR BACK LEFT is spiraling and has been since it germinated. And the spiral is smooth and consistent
FAR BACK RIGHT was born with 3 cotyledons, and has 5 (rest have 6-8) FAT lumpy ribs, and it's making areoles everywhere, even in-between the ribs, hoping it goes dichotomous or stays lumpy and weird. It;s one of the fastest growers which makes it even weirder for a weirdo.
even weirder is that my two weirdos ended up off in their own opposing corners, all by themselves. Gotta love symmetry.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
I also went traveling out west for a few months, and met a new friend in LA who shared my passion, and had about 20 stands of NON pc pachanoi in his yard, and he let me basically fill my trunk for free.
These are those cuttings. Basically the PERFECT, textbook representation of TRUE, Non-PC Trichocereus Pachanoi. And really old plants too. (Notice some have much longer spines then others, SAME clone, true pach, those ones were just from the North side of the stand, getting 10-12 hours of direct LA sun a day )
Very nice genetics as well. Not the most potent, but very *uniquely* visual, in a melting mountains, Smearing sky, Van Gough painting kind of way would make an excellent extraction tek cactus,

He was looking to attach a bunch of grafts to his large stands, and i happened to come by at the perfect time
I am not the female in this picture, is just a close friend of mine a traveled a few thousand miles with around the west coast . These are the stands the above cuttings came from.

Sorry for the hazy final picture, i sadly didn't snap a second before we left as a fail-safe :P

Dude probably has 10,000 pounds+ of pachanoi if you weighed all the stands. And that doesn't even mention bridgesii stands, which he had just as many of. I got a good portion of those as well, just cant find the pics i took and they were all eaten during our journey lololol
He had a few 8 feet+ Matucana perus as well.
hundreds upon hundreds of seedlings and rooted cuttings, never seen a tricho collection anywhere near that.
And not one, single, PC or cuzco, i had to give him a cuzco myself and he only took it because it was an active Bridgesii x cuzco cross.
That was the only area he would let me snap a picture of for obvious reasons. I had to wine a bit to get him to let me take that shot and he made sure location detail was off on my phone himself before he would even let me.

Those are some nice cacti DGB!
That pilocereus is beautiful. Seeing that makes me miss mine that died this summer.
SS02 has such a good look to it. I have few and the skin to spine color contrast is so nice. I love the spines on it. Mine tend to grow pretty skinny for some reason.
My Juuls is definitely less spiney than yours though.

Well I tasted a piece of one of my peruvianus today because it got root root so I cut it to re-root it and put a sliver in my mouth and it wasn't really noticeably bitter at all. This was a 3 year old seedling 4" tall and 1" diameter.

I have read conflicting stuff about the bitterness being an indication of alkaloids. I don't think its a good way to judge

I have heard the complete opposite. Bitterness equals alkaloids. And its a reliable source.

Is it maybe just too early for the lil guy to be heady? What factors control when they start making alkaloids?

They always produce alkaloids. Stress supposedly increase production (water, light, uv, sound of insects munching you name
