Beautiful crest, I know they throw them from time to time, hope mine does eventually.

I've taken my sensitive plants in, and am making a cold frame against the house for my heartier plants, going to try to overwinter my hardiest outdoors this year in a mini greenhouse to keep them dry. We'll see how it goes!

So there's strange stuff growing in my trich pot! It does smell a bit mushroomy lol but looks funny, what on earth is it? The trich looks really healthy so doesn't seem affected but still.....

I see that stuff on the bottom of pots a lot, can't tell if they are some sort of eggs or if they are a funky fungus. Never noticed any issues from them though.

Some of my trichos get a white fungi or bacteria growing on the actual cactus. I'll try to get a pic if it's still on there. They do fine with it.

Hey Spellbound.
I have had the yellow parasols come up in cacti and other houseplants before. To Me, I feel that the yellowish white looks like the Leucoprinus that I have encountered in my indoor plants before.
I am not 100%, however my hunch is that it is: Lepiota lutea. / Leucoprinus birnbaumii.
take a look online about houseplants, and see if it matches. my Hunch is that it is most probably it.

My trichs are near the end of their first summer in the sun. Grown from seeds planted in April of 2016.

Does anyone want to hazard a guess as to their species? Seeds were bought as T. peruvianus. Beyond the vendor's claim I can neither confirm nor deny.

Thanks. Hopefully they'll be more identifiable as they mature and get topped to get away from the spindly bases. Topping will be particularly helpful on the the two tallest ones that keep wanting to lay down and become logs.

It can also help to just re pot them a bit deeper in the soil, or use a stake or two. Twist tying heavy branches to stakes can help even more as well, good for grafting.

Beautiful bridgesii
I have a question for anyone here who has built their own greenhouse. What kind of plastic did you use?
I need to buy some plastic to cover a frame I have, the cover it came with has slowly deteriorated and won't hold much heat for the winter.
So is there a specific thickness or width I should look for? Would wider/ thicker plastic be better or should I just get what's cheapest and layer it?

Hello Fellow Trichocereus growers! I have been a longtime lurker on this thread, browsing and enjoying the pictures of all of your plants. Now that I have started collecting a garden of my own, I figured I would share it with all of you!
These are some of my most prized cactus, the small ones in the front are T. Haurazensis x Juuls Giant, and the large one in the back is (SS01xSS02) x T. Huanucoensis
 (SS02xSS01) x Psycho0
 Validus x Huarazensis
 T. Pachanoi crest
 T. Bridgesii seedlings
PC Pachanoi with some interesting growth
 T. Macrogonus still throwing down roots
 SuperPedro x Psycho0
Hope you all enjoy, I'll post some more pics once they put on some more growth!
