I moved some of my Bridgesii so they would get some rain. Some of them had pups which fell over. Also, I ended up cutting off one that was growing at an angle and would eventually fall over or cause the pot to tip over. I'm not planting them, I'll prepare them to be used in October. My preparation consists of peeling off the skin, removing the core, drying in a dehydrator, and grinding to a powder and putting in capsules. My plant material is still very much alive, is there anything I could do over the next two months to increase potency? Should I leave them in the sun, put in a dark closet, or can I just go ahead with drying them?

I've got a pachanoi log that's about two years old in a pot. It has two pups, one about 1.5 ft tall and another about 3 ft tall. The taller ones makes it pretty much impossible to move without having the taller one fall over under its own weight. Normally I overwinter them inside my house, but given the immobility it looks like I'll have to leave the big guy outside. I'm scared it will die though, and my cacti are like my pets
Does anyone have experience and/or advice for overwintering my pach? I'm in zone 6a-6b. We get temps as low as 0, and wind chills can get subzero. We have two or three snows a year, and usually at least one ice storm. The plant will be on a balcony with a roof overhead, so I should be able to shield it somewhat. Thanks in advance for any advice!
I've also heard that letting them overwinter outside increases chances for flowers, but right now I'm just worried about making sure it survives.

Jizzmaster, you should think about doing an experiment! All anybody has is anecdotal evidence anyways! Take 2 and put them in a cupboard somewhere and go ahead and dehydrate and prepare the other two! Youll have some in the sun, still growing as well!
Azur, low light and cold temps trigger dormancy so they should go to sleep. You might want to think about staking it for support and bringing it just inside for the coldest portion of winter..
Just my 2 cents guys, put some salt on it or whatever..
Squared away werd for my homies.

I just read on a fb group that if you know the right people, all the badass super expensive clones will be in your grasp.. although i agree with this statement, the act of getting the right people to know you is the miraculous part. When you are starting your collection and you have little diversity to trade with, the "right people" have a very slim chance of actually noticing you and taking an interest in what you have to offer, or your aspirations for your future garden endeavors.. i hope il be able to break this cycle within a couple of years. I cant do it alone though, and im not doin it alone. As we speak, droves of cactus seedlings are growing, multiple thousands of seedlings, growing in our back yards, everywhere around the world. The tricho market will burst at the seems and melt away within a couple of years. Nobody will have to pay 30, 50, a hundred bucks a foot anymore. Mark these words, fellow addicts. It will happen for we, individually, have already set this wheel in motion. Shout out to us, the kickstarters of this revolution! We are the right people to know.

I don't have Facebook so I have to come across them on here, ebay, or other plant vendors. The addiction is strong but not strong enough to get on facebook. Nice cacti! 9 ribbers are cool
