They all got some blue but others just outblue the rest. I was lucky with this one.

Questionable yes. Another cut? I wouldnt. Seems it happens but as long as its getting dry air and not in a humid environment, there,s little to worry about. Mind ypu, thats just me. An unconventional answer from an unconventional grower.
Those black spots I kinda scrapped them with my finger nails. I forget the logic I had behind it. So I think it is bruising. Maybe I wanted the sides to be smooth

That sucks. I'm sure you're feeling pretty disappointed right now. Are you going to cut that tip off?

No, I'm going to hang fire and see if adjusts to the full sun, the other half is doing great, maybe I can put a bit of a net or cloth over for a while to reduce it...... I'm told by someone much more knowledgable than I that it should recover....... I do hope they're right

I'd say so. From my experience even the small ones could probably handle it but I would leave them. The tall one on its own though, for sure!

The pups look like they got a bit sunburned. Too hard to tell about the stumps though.

I'm pretty bummed. I've got a Pachanoi tip cutting that I got rooted at the beginning of the summer, and it's grown about a foot so far and was looking great. Yesterday wind knocked over an entire tomato plant on top of it and bent the fuck out of it It didn't break it, but it won't stand up on its own and leans at about a 45-50 degree angle.
I've propped it up with some stakes and have it straight, but the area at the base where it bent the most is already turning a light brown, which I assume is bruising at a minimum. I'm hoping it survives, but I suppose if worst comes to worst I can just take a cutting of it above the injury and try to get it rooted before winter

Possibly. You a picture of said cactus. Would be nice see whay youre dealing, with.
Cacti fall all the timw. The majority wont rot but will not be the same afterwarda.

Some different angles showing the browning at the base, right near the soil, which is where it was bent the hardest. It's so lopsided that maybe it would do better being started over as a small log and tip cutting regardless...
