you guys have some really great looking cacti! man, I am envious. I just started growing about 15-20 peruvians from seed, so the only thing in my picture is a clay pot full of dirt. I'll post in here one day though.

Am I correct in assuming this seedling is sun burnt?

I apologize for the picture quality. I'll be able to upload proper macro photos soon.
It has developed an area of discoloration. It has also been getting more sunlight recently. I've started giving the pot morning sunlight in addition to afternoon sunlight. My other 5 seedlings are still very green.

Looks fine to me.
When they turn red and purple, then I'd watch them.

Just the plant's response to more light. I like to have it so that my tricho seedlings always show some red hues. Lookin' good!

Hey Big L how long ago did you register ? This is a post that the admin made the other day Re account approval
Quote:
The approval system no longer functions automatically. ie I have to approve each member manually after manually checking that their IP is genuine and they are unlikely to be spammers. This is incredibly time consuming and to be honest I have not been able to keep up with it for a long time. We are due for a software update and I was hoping that this might fix the problem [the last one made it worse]. I'll try and get this done asap as I feel really bad about so many people waiting.
Cheers Got

I have tried to register there multiple times over the course of about 4 years. No joke. Once a long time ago. I just figured it was since I was in the states, or registration was closed. Over the last year I have tried a few more times. I would have tried a lot more, but I had a feeling that would get me labeled a spam IP. One time I got an email back about a month later. The link in the email was dead. I tried to get a response through their webshop's email, but no response. They did respond the time I inquired about buying stuff. I gave up a little while ago with the feeling that I haven't seen a message board on the entire internet with administration that bad. However, for the subject, the board is one of the best. It's a shame.

I joined just to see the pretty pictures. Had to sign up probably 4 times, though. Good luck, man.
In other news, some kind of bug, slugs probably, recently ate the tops off many of my year-old torches. I'll post pics when and if they start pupping. They all have a pretty good callous already.

Yeah I'd be happy if they just opened the board up to allow for image browsing.

I'm double posting but I think you'll agree its warranted.
These are the peruvianoids:
T. peruvianus from Tasmania via obtuse.

HB01

Sold to me as a peruvianus but more likely a cuzcoensis.

Roseii #1

Sharxx Blue. Probably just a Roseii #2 though.

Steve

Unnamed peruvianoids:

Seed grown by Ferret.

Sausage plant. People can't agree on the species this fits into but I'm keeping it labelled as a peruvianoid, for now.

This One is a strange fellow that I happened to pick up about 4 months ago. It was dug out of an old ladies garden, with permission of course, and is a bit of a shapeshifter. This has led to it being called ODO(unofficially!). After consulting a few people it may even be a sausage plant that was grown in an area where it never went dormant, hence the shapeshifting(dropping and adding of ribs) habit. I really don't want to cut it but it's at a stage where something must be done and it needs to be propogated. I might cut it where it collars about a foot from the soil line. Thoughts??
Here's ODO anyway:

Lastly, a crest:

Good stuff, karode. The ODO is strange indeed.
I think your idea of separating it at the collar is good. Propagate the top and get it to throw pups from the stump.

I can't wait till this monstrose bridgesii specimen really populates my garden, because it grows damn fast for a monstrose!

Here's this same guy just starting out as a pup:

You should try registering on that forum again. I made a registration a few weeks ago and it just went through a few days ago. If it doesn't work this time, maybe they just don't think you're cool enough for their forum. I'd suggest smoking cigarettes while wearing a leather jacket and dark sunglasses.
