I finally got my 20lb box of Pachanoi cuttings in the post today. These things are a lot fatter than expected and the box was huuuge that they came in!
There was a total of 10 cuttings and I will probably end up planting about half of them. The rest of the not so good looking ones are going to be cut up and dried until I figure out what to do with them.
I also ordered a bunch of 5 inch pots to put these in expecting these to be smaller cuts but some of them wont even fit inside the pot!

Some of the ends are starting to slightly rot on a few of the not so good looking cactus but most of them look like they are ready to throw out some roots. This is one of the nicer cuttings...

Cut the rot off asap, I had to do the same to some of mine and now they are throwing out pups like crazy. Looks like a nice fat lot of pedros.

Pupping, not budding. Budding would imply that it's forming a flower.

Not trying to be "Mr. Smart E Pants" but having been in the horticulture trade for many years, little things like that bug me.

Here's a crappy photo of my cactus garden:

Not all of them are Trichocereus, but the majority are. The ones that are not are the Blue Myrtle, the Psilocereus azureus, the Gymnocalycium horstii, Echinocereus viereckii, and some unidentified monstrose that you can't really see in the picture.
The Trich's that I do have growing are pachanoi, bridgesii, and some supposed peruvianus that I suspect are really cuzcoensis.

Yeah that whole peruvianus/cuzcoensis thing seems to stump even the experts. Bioassay is about the only way to know for sure if it's active. I've got a couple a friend gave me that I'm not sure about too.

Is that pachanoi planted with your monstrose bridgesii, or is the bridgesii putting out a pup with regular growth?

Not pachanoi or regular growth. That's how they pup. It will continue in its monstrous ways.

A lot of the time when a TBM puts out a pup it will look like regular bridgesii growth until it matures a little more.

This has a very symmetrical look to it, including the spines. I've been waiting on it to root and yesterday I saw some beginning to emerge.

Diggin' the symmetry! Can't wait till I can get some pups off mine and start new babies.
Here is the same TBM 11 days later, fast little grower... Also some T. Validus seedlings that are ~1 week old.

I put some of my cuttings in pots on top of some hoffman cactus soil being sure it wasnt too damp.
They have been there about 2 weeks now and hopefully should root in the near future.
I have a few more cuttings callusing up for a little longer before I plant them as well.
