Yeah, I just ordered Schultz 2-7-7 Cactus Plus Liquid Plant Food. I think I've heard this product mentioned around here before, so I'm sure it's decent. I also have Miraclegrow cactus fertilizer, but I'm not watering the new cacti for a few days anyway.

TBM crest freshly acquired. As much as I'd like to keep this specimen whole, I can see so many grafting opportunities I will have no choice but to chop it up soon. I'll take 6-7 smaller TBM crest grafts over one large prized specimen. In a few years they'll all be back to the same size anyway, so that's a no brainer to me. I can't share genetics from my collection without chopping up beauties like this.
Random variegateds that I'm waiting to root so I can propagate further.

That crest looks amazing. I had seen it at more than $200 and assumed that was the one you mentioned you were trying to get in the PM you sent me. Your poor bank account

I have one almost indentical but smaller cactus. It's cool cactus. Tried to once take small part to graft and it's failed cause it's very hard to find out the actual "vascular ring" Even I saw something at bottom of cut but maybe the cutting was too small or something.. Don't know, maybe I just don't have skills to graft crested cactus even I know how it should be done in theory.
This picture has taken at this year spring:

Cactus was actually very expensive but not even close to 100€ I have followed the growth rate later on and it is not so slow growing what I expected. I will keep cactus on it's own roots. Fortunately spider mites has been visited my plant and it has small amount of scars but not so much and at the moment it's healthy specimen.

That's a beauty too
@Manoa Yeah I paid quite a bit but it was totally worth it due to its size and the fact I can multiply its genes to infinity much quicker

Finally got around to another San Pedro photo. This is a nice non-PC clone as far as I can tell, both the original cuttings came from plants that are probably 20' tall, nearly spineless, and likely over 40 years old.
I ended up with one 3' arm and a 4.5' one, split the longer one into 3 pieces and the other in half.

The two logs that were bottom sections, not in the photo, are planted in the ground already.

Nice! You've got some flower buds forming on the one on the left. Hopefully they'll bloom. I've got a cutting like that too, as well as one in a pot budded. Never seen one bloom in person before. Pretty excited

Got two bridgesii cuttings! I can only keep the tips, the rest is doomed.
Ive heard that 10cm is usually the minimum length for taking cuttings for rooting, but I really want to push it. Is there any reason 10cm is preferable, or is recommended from experience? What would happen if I were to root some 5cm cuttings for example?

PCs are all clones from an original cutting brought to the US by some dude quite a while ago or something. they're known for not being too strong.
edit: stands for "predominant cultivar".

Larger cuttings are preferred as they tend to establish and grow quicker than smaller ones. A 5cm will take some time to start putting on good growth and may take a few years to reach 30cm+ of growth a season. Larger cuts 10cm+ continue to grow as normal once they have a root system, good soil, light and nutrients.

they look like PC pachanois. if you grow them right, prepare them correctly, and hope you have at least a decently potent clone, then they can get strong-ish
