I received my 10 inch San Pedro cutting on Sat it was calluced and dusted with rooting hormone so I planted it in cactus mix with a generous amount of perlite I added. I put it on the porch filtered light but it was about 90f in that room during daytime since. The cactus has developed some black blisters and I put it back in the house last night. Prob nothing to worry about I'm sure and how often to water? I only have it some water once planted and some more last night because it was super dry, like the dessert.

You shouldn't really water them at all until you know you have roots imo, I leave mine in dry loose soil and pick them up every month or so to see if roots have started to pop, and once that happens I plant them in their final place, given em a heavy misting, and then I won't water for about a week, to give the newly popped roots a chance to heal after putting them in new soil so pathogens aren't introduced when watered.

In desert, mine always seem to get black dots if not inside when they're rooting.
I think you only need a little occasional water to encourage roots a bit, they cant really use it until they get established in a few weeks. When mine were doing well, they'd get water once a week, maybe 2 weeks. If sunken I'd let dirt be totally dry for atleast 3 days before watering again, soil only stays moist a day in small pots, maybe 2 or 3 days still moist in middle of the big ones.
If someone contradicts me then listen to them. I'm not the best gardener.

Thanks guys it's a 8 inch pot I wanted plenty of room for growth. I'll cut back on water. Is 90f+/- bad for a cutting to root or just right?

I guess I can't grow cactus. I can't beat the rats and mice. I've sealed this old coop up almost entirely with not just chicken wire, but smaller holed, thicker wired mesh aswell. Even the floor cause they tunneled in. Tested for like 2 weeks with random food and nothing. 1 night with my favorite flower cactus and they did this, fully through core. I dont think it'll survive since it's still trying g to recover new roots.

Sacred Succulents. I would avoid World Seed Supply. They have a reputation of sending cuzcoensis labeled as peruvianus. Other than the SS02, I get everything from trich/loph auction groups on the ol’ facebook.

I really haven’t used eBay for that purpose enough to have a valid opinion. I have gotten very lucky on there with some seedlings and little pieces of TBM.

I highly recommend the sanpedrocactusforsale subreddit, I've gotten my best deals there. People are very generous, sometimes people list things and tell you to name your own price.
Ebay is cool too.

Few years ago ebay treated me well with any seller. Some bid wars I regret, but always got what was described or pictured. I even got some Matacuna seeds from their home country when a guy was doing research on them. Idk if pics still hosted this long, but I remember the plant was so big and fat the seed pod was bigger than his fist in a photo, and I mean clearly bigger by an inch each side. Dark green almost grey looking. he called the plant Shifty, sent 2x packs of 15 seeds, I just got a few of them to germinate despite being 5 years old.
