You'd think it'd be less with less photosynthesis, neat.

Thanks! Yeah I pop back in every once in a while to check on friends and meet new people! Hope you have been doing well! I lost most of the plants in the first pic due to a power outage on the coldest night in December 😢 this year I'll make it all back and then some. Cactus brings out the best in some people I've noticed

I’m new to cactus growing. Are these good hybrids (psychoactive)? I’m hoping that we all take care of one another for a lifetime. If anyone has tips I’d appreciate it. I’m assuming since they’re yearlings they’ll stay on my south facing windowsill this growing season, and introduce to outdoors next spring? Thanks again!

You can have them outside this growing season, if you keep them inside on your south side window, they will probably etiolate, which is where the grow skinny because they're not getting enough light. I would gradually introduce them to the sun, make sure it gets some shade. If it changes color (turns purple) it's too much sun too fast. Make sure to use high draining soil and water when the soil is dry. They can take a lot more water than what people think, trichocereus is not a desert species. Good luck, and have fun with the hobby

I appreciate the response! I’ll have them outside this year then. Do you know if these little guys will like to be fertilized every 3rd watering or so? I have Jones Cactus Juice and I got a good quality salmon fertilizer that was recommended for my TBM’s. Thanks again?

I hard grow my cactus which means I do not water and do not fertilize them, that's probably not a question for me to answer

Definitely dont over fertilize your young trichos it can cause them to stunt. Many people feed their trichos once or twice a year in the peak growth season. I like to feed mine 3 times a year, at the start of the growth season, in the peak & again at the end. I dont ever feed when its cold or in winter. Make sure the fert is always low nitrogen, unless its specifically for cactus/succulents you can get away with diluting it 1:2/1:3 🌵

Awesome thanks, I love having a good look at dense cactus on benches like that. It really does it for me
Beautiful Cac mate 👌
Love those Shrek Dicks. The Blueing on that mk222 looks real nice too, is that a red spined peru? 🌵

The mk222 has more of a silver gray color spine, and it's got that super baby blue color to it! I've owned some blue cacti (sharxx, Rosie 1 and 2, Dawson's 1, Trent etc) mk222 imo takes the cake. I'll see if I can find some more pics of my full shelves then!

Thank you! I was planning on using half the recommended strength of the fertilizer to start and go from there. Thanks for the help everyone I’m excited to watch these babies grow up.

You can feed every watering or every other watering.. From what I've gathered they're hard to over-feed. I give mine the doctor earth tomato stuff and they seem to love it.
I'm at a point in this hobby where it looks like feeding is required if you want explosive growth. I've noticed a drastic difference in growth compared to my first two years where I didn't really do any feeding. Obviously no feeding when dormant though.

I do all of my feed diluted and every other watering or more. I'd start half strength and work your way up, but you're not likely to burn anything with what Jones has.

I mean I guess it depends on how old your seedlings are, if they're still in the takeout container, they don't need to be fed. Beyond that though I always thought they could benefit from at least diluted feedings. I've seen a lot of people on reddit say that they have trouble over-feeding their plants, they just keep responding. I personally make a tea for waterings and apply a top dressing of worm castings and dr. earth and mineral mix as needed.
