Regarding dryness of substrate and the longevity of spores
    #1799506 - 08/10/03 10:24 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

there we 2 jars that came out a little dry and have dried out a little more since inoculation due to heat....

well, its been aprox. 4 days since and my friend is thinking about juicing them up with some more steralized water.

she knows that the jars are a little dry, there is apsolutely no mycelium growth visible, there is no rank smell so no contams and they have been put into another incubator incase contams have moved in.

Her question is this.... if the jars were a little too dry, dry enough to inhibit mycelium growth, how long can the spores that were injected live without a "proper" moisture content????

wait a few more days. Injecting sterile water should be a last resort.

no man im telling you they are dry to the fucking bone. maybe not that dry but they are dry enough where I see NO condensation, NO wet spots....

the seed is simply shakeable 110%, aka no moisture at all where the rest of the jars are showing excellent growth and excellent moisture content.
