This news shouldn't surprise anyone, it was just a matter of time. I never thought very highly of the concept in the first place, for this very reason.

So, because a criminal central bank might one day call bitcoin "money laundering" you thought bitcoin was wrong?
I'm confused.
Could you clarify your statement?

The concept of the BitCoin is great, but I always felt that TPTB were not going to let a alternative currency gain too much power, therefore my lack of enthusiasm from the beginning.
Gold and silver are money, regardless of what the crooks do in the short term.

The whole point of BTC is to make it as unregulated and untraceable as possible, between tumbling and fogs and everything else I don't see how they'd ever be able to regulate them. They can't even stop the real banks from laundering tons of drug money!

I hope you're right about the difficulty regulating the BTC, and I don't think anyone is serious about stopping the banks laundering drug money, they could if they wanted.

Has anyone read what and how they're regulating it? Or have they even said anything specific about it. Because a few articles I've read makes it seem that due to clauses in how they can and cannot regulate commodities that these new regulations will be for speculators of BC. As far as individual transactions where one person pays for and receives said BC the Government has no power to regulate such transactions. I could be wrong I'm still trying to figure it out.

Yeah.... HOW are they planning on regulating bitcoins, that's what I want to know? They can't. They want to, but they can't. It's pretty much impossible. I'd want to see some details cause this seems like more hot air to me. Governments around the world have wanted to control SR/bitcoins since they first came to be, they can't.

Doesn't matter if they regulate it when more and more businesses accept bitcoins and reject the us dollar. I'll just keep all my money in bitcoins. Screw banks.

I wouldn't be surprised if US pumped anon money into bitcoin to destabilize. Big crash and they regulate to 'protect'.

Is there an ideal time to buy into Bitcoins? I've been on the hunt for awhile but don't want to sink over like $50 into it. They've been stuck around $120-170 for the past month it seems like.

I completely agree. Bitcoins (or the concept of) are at the edge of an imaginary realm where the grip of greed and power of crooked governments and manipulating corporate giants of the world cannot reach past. The reason is simple. It's was created and is controlled by the people on an individual basis. When you eliminate the government it's just like the simplified barter system back in the beginning that worked fine. It's one of the biggest FUCK YOU's to the people up top who are only there because they have made the choice to hold people under them by withholding the knowledge that would make everyone truly equal.
EXAMPLE: Billy, George, and Suzy go into town. Billy learns that if he doesn't tell George and Suzy what the name of the town is that he can stay mayor and make all the rules. What happens when George and Suzy find out the name of the town? That's right kids, everyone becomes equal and has to play nice. No more fat cats watching as George and Suzy have to drive themselves insane trying to figure out why they can't live a better life.
Fucking greed!

Good luck trying to time the Bitcoin market. In my opinion, it's all luck. This is a new frontier that has no real, predictable fundamentals.

Haven't you heard?
Money laundering is only for government approved banks, and government approved drug dealers.
