2nd Time Grow Questions - Trouble Pinning

Hi everybody. I've been surfing this site to find information that's already out there, but I'd really appreciate people's input.
This is my second shroom grow. My first was largely a failure but this time, I got all 12 of my rice cakes to fully colonize. I started the cycle 8 weeks ago and switched my cakes to my terrarium about 4 weeks ago. My terrarium is the rubbermaid container style. I use a water bath to keep the relative humidity at >95%, temperature steady at 22-25 C / 71-77 F. I fan the air three times a day and the terrarium is reasonably well lit.
However, I can't hardly get my cakes to pin! I'm totally stumped. I've had one abort, one shroom that I accidentally killed, and right now I have one big-ass shroom that's growing like crazy, but that's it. The cakes simply refuse to pin. Any advice on what I can do to change this?

Well I've never heard of a water bath for humidity personnaly, but it sounds like you should be fanning more. FAE and light = pins usually. humidity being a bonus

Did you build your chamber as a SGFC (shotgun fruiting chamber)? 1/4" holes on a grid on all 6 sides of your bin? This with 4-5" of heavily hydrated perlite should provide optimal rH and FAE with only minor fanning and misting required. The water bath will lead to trouble; get rid of it ASAP.
My pinning guide might help you, but my focus is more on monotubs.

You need to fan more.

Hi Ryath,
No I didn't build a shotgun fruiting chamber, I just looked it up and it's the first I've heard of it. I'll have to look into it.
What specifically is wrong with a water bath? How is the end result any different from using perlite?

Water is a thing of motion and spirals. Unless you keep it flowing and aerated, it has the tendency to breed contaminants that you do not want near your projects.
If you are using cakes, the best tek out there is PF Tek. You can find everything you need to know about it here and on RR's site, mushroomvideos.com.
You might want to read my pinning guide... it covers the issues you are experiencing, but your fruiting chamber design is a huge step in the right direction. You'll still want to fan and mist, but SGFCs go hand in hand with BRF/Verm cakes.
