WBS should be airy enough by itself that you won't need vermiculite; vermiculite has no nutrition in it and would probably decrease your flushes.

the reason for the verm is to help control moistre content and make it easier to add a dry verm layer...kramer says he'll let you know if he gets anything from them...he is going nuts over his pmp and just has to put something in it...it just looks so foggy in there

kramer would like to know if anyone thinks he should set them on a lid or directly on the perlite(to cheap to go all the way to the hydro store for geolite) kramer has read that wbs cakes tend to dry out so he is cold dunking(popping that cherry) and will roll in dry verm any thought or sugestions are welcome

The biggest problem my friend has with WBS over several flushes is moisture content so yeah, placing them directly on the perlite might be a good idea.

No. He spent awhile fruiting straight WBS casings, with the trouble previously mentioned, and now uses it to spawn straw and/or dung exclusively.
