I just moved my grow into a new home.
I thought it would be easier to keep clean here, since the new house has a separate room just for my fungal friends.
At the old house I got my monotubs down pat, no contam, and I was working in the livingroom. Not the cleanest livingroom, mind you. I was inoculating just a few feet from houseplants, a rabbit hutch, bird cages.
Zero contam in that house.
And here I am in my new home with a special room that I keep HOSPITAL CLEAN, I bleach and iso the whole room before and after work. I run a HEPA filter constantly (except during work). I shower and change my clothes before running sensitive teks. Nothing goes into the room that isn't sterile.
So why has every single jar, bag and tub I've made here suffered apocalyptic levels of contam? Both trich and yellow snot bacteria have devastated every project I do here.

Might need to have someone come and check for mold.. it would probably be expensive. Or thinking positively, theyre just bad syringes.
Whatever it is, a SAB will help way more than you could hope for in a cardboard box

That's crazy...damn I hope that doesn't happen to me ever.
Seems how all ur shit is contaminated I would say it's coming from
the jars somehow.

Are you using a SAB and proper pasteurization?

What's an SAB? I use a medical grade autoclave for my jars at 20psi for 90 mins. I do proper pasteurization for all of my subs, that bucket tek is bad juju.

Still air box. Its a small box you work in that help prevent contams while inoculating, working with agar and LC, G2G etc. Search it in the forums or google

For all of my nocs I do grain-to-grain in a simple glove box.
All of my equipment and teks worked great until I moved here.

Damn, I was talking about this exact same scenario with my bf today - we rent a house, our lease is up in about 4 months and he wants to move to a better part of town. I said fuck that, if I'm growing successfully here, my ass is staying right here That sucks tho...I'd think your autoclave is even better than using a PC, and 90 mins at 20psi should kill anything in your jar......if the only that has changed in your tek is the actual place where you grow, I'd start there, maybe mold in the walls that you can't see(idk about these things, I have limited construction knowledge...)

Seems like you're at a loss here, matey. Sanitize EVERYTHING twice, order new spores and carry on that way. If it doesn't work, contact the landlord and tell them the house has mold and it's making your alergies act up. You were told it was a clean and good house only to find irritable mold spores

Paint the walls with kilts stainblocker and add a vial of anti fungal treatment to the paint then eliminate any drafts that may come from outside the room like vents and window and under the door. Or just setup a small grow tent with pvc and plastic or something. Are you sure your not experiencing contaminated spawn though?

I've got tyvek over the window, I guess I'll continue with weather stripping under the door and anti-fungal paint on the walls.
What's this about contaminated spawn? My master jars are solid bricks of white mycelium by now. I've waited a bit long to use them, a couple of them have fruited in the jar.
Could my masters be contam'd even though they look so healthy?

If ur masters are really healthy and smell sexy after shaking them up
to use then I dunno...paint, clean, and hope for next time.

I recently had a run with PE lc from an agar wedge that when it colonizing grain jars looked perfect and smelled perfect also but once spawned to properly pasteurized horse manure it would turn green every time. I still dont know what happenes I know trich starts out white but this looked exactly like healthy mycellium rhizos and all and the same substrate pasteurized at the same time did fine with chitwan, B+, and AA+ all tubs done at the same time and only the PE failed I traced it back to the inoculate being bad. How I'm not sure and why the contams where not noticeable I will never know lol. All I'm saying is it is possible to have dirty spawn and not even know it sometimes the contamination will "piggy back" the mycellium.

It's because you're watching too much Sealab 2021 and not focusing on your sterilization tek's.

It could be your glove-box.
I prefer a still air box over a glove-box. The difference being that the gloves are not attached.
#1 reason is versatility. I can flame sterilize outside the box and easily get my utensil back in the box. Not true with gloves attached.
Why I think the problem may be your glove-box is this: With gloves attached, every move you make can cause pressures and vacuums inside the box. These variances may be very slight, but just enough to suck air in through the imperfect seal on the box, which happens to be on the top, the perfect place for contams to come in and float down in to all your hard work.
When I move my hands in and out, there is no seal around my arms that cause changes in pressure. I f there are slight changes, it happens down low, beneath my work. The air inside is still. Stil air does not allow anything to float up and/or down in to my work.
Mine is a clear tote wit 5"holes cut in at shoulder width apart. The center of the holes are about 7" lip of the tote. I flip the tote upside down on a clean towel. I spray the inside with 10% bleach and wait a few minutes for it to settle. The towel gets damp and traps contams. I cover the holes with cling wrap if I need to let it sit for a few minutes.
Also, turn of the ac/heat or anything that creates air flow and move in to the least drafty room and shut the door.
I do not get contams from work done inside this box.

my jars will start to fruit if they are kept for like 2 months, but they will also try to fruit if there is a contam. maybe take a hard look at those jars.
