Testing multiple file selection and progress bar for image uploads 6

When uploading images, people frequently request the ability to pick multiple files in the selection box. For a long time this wasn't possible, but I am testing a new version of the upload script where this feature is available. (You can do it by shift/ctrl-clicking multiple files, or by dragging a box around the ones you want to select.)
I also fixed the upload progress meter, which had been broken since summer.
These features should work with the latest release version of any modern browser. If you've been stubbornly sticking with Firefox 4.0 or something you won't notice any difference, but it should still function as well as it ever did.
Please give it a try and report any bugs or problems!

How did you write the script Bash? it does not work on my end. The progress bar works but the images do not want to post.

Working well!
I just noticed though that the quality setting for the thumbnails seems to be set to very low, making the thumbnails of the pictures I uploaded look very ugly.

Yeah I made some changes to the upload script which might have broken it in older browsers. I think it should work for you now though, I fixed some stuff. However, if you upgrade to IE10 you'll get a cool progress bar. Either way, please let me know if you continue to experience problems.

No. Jesus. Ok let me spell it out for you. Download Google Chrome to your phone, then open it, type shroomery.org into the address bar, then go to browser options, select desktop view. Sign in and upload. Also you must have ice cream sandwich or higher on your phone to get chrome. If you don't see it in the app store then you have an out dated phone.

I just uploaded 7 pics using multiple image selection on Firefox 20.0.1 Been waiting so long for that! Its so much better, thank you!
It worked great, had the progress bar but I noticed that only the first image box let me select multiple files.
Box 2 was a single image selection... just fyi.

it doesn't work for me either. In fact, if I try to load any file larger than about one meg, it just hangs up and never does anything.

I tried uploading about 37 pics at once earlier. It kept freezing, or hanging. Sometimes the bar wouldn't load at all, sometimes it would load to 9% and stop. Most of the time it would go to 100% and freeze. Uploaded all the same pics one at a time, and like 8-9 at a time just fine. The sizes were fine. It seemed when I tried to upload more than about 14-15 at a time it would cause it to hang. If any of that is useful info.

uploading from android works fine, i had the same problem where it says uploading but i discovered that you can upload multiple files.
once you select your first file and click upload, notice that now theres a place to put a 2nd photo, keep clicking uploading and adding the next photo.
once you have got all the photos wanted, just click the upload button again and it should bring you to your gallery.
If you just have 1 photo, slect your photo, click upload, then click upload again.
I was using opera browser

Im having problems with the uploader on my desktop PC.
Basically i tried to uploaded 9 photos.
It got to 14% and stopped.
Uploaded 1 file got to 100% but the next page didnt load.
Tried multiple times. same thing 100% uploaded but didnt go to the gallery page.
I then tried uploading again, waited to 100% then when to my gallery and the picture is indeed there.
so to get round the issue i had to upload my photos 1 by 1 waiting till it got to 100% and refreshed the page so i could upload another photo. This worked for all of the 9 photos bar 1 which i had to reupload.
This is with firefox 20.0 Mozilla firefox for Ubuntu conical -1.0 running on ubuntu studio 10.04 using XFCE 4.8 interface.
I havnt tried another upload on another browser yet.
Also i had problems creating new folders, is there a folder limit? i managed to create 1 new folder for a grow log and was trying to cleanup my pictures, created another folder, but it never appears and repeatedly creating it doesnt work.
I thought maybe i hvae too many, so deleted a redundent folder, same thing creating new folder does nothing :/

So after years of using a flip phone, I finally went out and got a Galaxy S4. It wasn't specifically to debug this problem, but I figured that would be a bonus. I eagerly snapped a photo, browsed to the Shroomery, and tried to upload the image so I could begin tracking down the issue.
And it worked just fine. I simply cannot duplicate the error. I'm using Chrome 25.0.1364.169 which is the version that came pre-installed on the phone. Can one of you guys help me figure out how to reproduce this?

It works fine on chrome so its not as pressing of an issue for me anymore. The problem is that on androids old default browser (what came with my s3 and almost all android phones) It would not work. Glad to hear the new s4 has chrome as a default.
And thank you for getting on top of the issue!

If it helps any I use an android phone to browse the forums all the time. I have no issues using the default browser, just display issues but I'm not expecting to fit the entire page on my screen.
If anything for me, the site doesn't load properly when I use 3rd party browsers such as Opera or dolphin.

I cant get multiple uploads to work it usually stops after the first pic and doesnt go any further, so i do it one at a time. It usually works with 1 pic. Its now actually loading the pic up after upload completes where as before it wasnt even loading to the gallery after words but the pic was uploaded.
IM gonna open up opera and see if its the same
I couldnt get the shroomery to work on the other browsers because im not logged in, so have to use the tor network to log in (dont ask) but the forums wont load up so i can load in via proxy with google chrome or opera, i can get the home page of the shroomery to load fine though just not the forums, white screen.
I give up, i can live with uploading a file at a time

With Mozilla firefox on windows 7 the progress bar freezes randomly.
I was only able to upload 2 images at a time, and even then it would freeze every other time.
Internet explorer and chrome work just fine.
just as broken

Hey! sorry to bump this thread again however image uploads have not been working for me on chrome, firefox, or IE on windows 7
The progress bar freezes randomly mid upload.
Seeing as im the only one who seems to be having this problem It must be something on my end but I cant imagine what. Everything worked fine %100 for me before the updates. Now I can occasionally get it to upload a SINGLE file.
Since the update our outdoor cannabis season has been booming, Mutants and rare variegations have popped up in my garden, Ive Piled up way too many mushrooms needing identification. 4th annual shroomery gathering.
I HAVE SO MUCH TO SHARE WITH ALL OF YOU BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!
Im on a laptop connected via wifi. I tried connecting directly to the modem with a cable and it didnt change a thing. Because it freezes at completely random points Its possible Connection is being briefly interrupted because of my location?
I will take my laptop to another location sometime this week and see if that is the problem.
Non the less this was never a problem until the update. I was always able to upload 5 photos at a time.
Is the new system more sensitive?
Thank you for your time and work!

I've just got my internet back after over 2 months of waiting (BT are shit!!!), in the mean time I had to use my phone to access this site and they put a block on it (even just viewing it), I had to confirm to them that I was over 18 which meant using my credit card...then my credit card company put a block on me because it looked like a scam (because it was!)...
This website should be more mobile phone friendly!
I've never had any problems uploading stuff from my mobile phone though (Just because I haven't tried due to the sheer hassle involved).
From the desktop though the new system is a lot better.

a few times ive tried uploading, it would reach 99% and stop. I was tethering wifi thru my phone and selected multiple images in a single selection. After repeated tries, my photos uploaded when i selected single photos. IDK if wifi tether thru phone had anything to do with it

No. Don't do that. Offsite posting is the most annoying thing.

I never do that anyway, but why do you find it annoying?

This is the wrong place to post this. Make an identification request with more detailed pictures. It looks like it could be a Chlorophyllum species.

Nah, it's Agaricus. The edibility depends on the odor, the toxic Agaricus species smell like ink or phenol/chemicals.

*1 See in the very top left corner just underneath your name? Click where it says "pics"
*2 Then on the next page, also in the top left corner. Click where it says "upload"
*3 On the new page, Just click "Browse" And select your images then click "Upload and boom your photos will be on the website.
If youd like to put the picture in your post.
Follow the first step to get to your pics page
you should see all your uploaded photos here. underneath them is a link.
Copy that and paste it in your post here and the photo will appear in the post <3
Good Luck!
And Welcome!

I didnt change anything so im not sure what it was. Maybe one of the admins can give us some deets.
Good luck!
In the meantime you can upload photos somewhere else, like photobucket then just post the link for the photos in your posts

I have never logged on on a computer, 100% phone from day 1 and right now
