casing is dry

This hooker I know has a ton of pins popping up (I'd say around fifty or more, very even pinset)but the casing keeps drying up.She has given it a couple of mistings now but is worried about continuing to mist.Is a light misting going to make all these fat asses abort. Also they are maturing very slowly ,about a 1/2 inch in 3 -4 days, they are orissa indias, is it normal for this strain to take a long time to mature? thanks for the advice.Oh she's using peat and coco coir for casing.

Light mistings will not cause pins to abort. Read this.

Be sure to provide adequate air exchange - a co2 build up can hinder growth.

Thanks a lot she never found that in the faq. You know there's a ton of shit to read and she has done lots of homework anyway this is her first casing attempt and so far is very pleased. Fanning is done quite a bit though at least four five times plus the lid is constantly open about an inch on the terrarium. she is using a 55 gal tank on it's side with plexi so you can fold it down to work. perlite humidification. thanks
nan has a beautiful nook there do you know nan?

Sorry, once you are there, go to "Archives", then to "Casings" and finally to "Water Delivery to Casings". Great reading man.

wow I had no idea to use that much water before they pin. after this flush she'll "drench" the casing and hopefully get even bigger fruits. Orissa's ought to be LARGE

Just try to find out the needs of your cakes, casings or whatever. I wouldn?t recommend to apply strictly everything you read.

Don't drench it -- just mist it more often *if you need to*; not a heavier misting.

your fruiting temp sounds a little high, and humidity too low.
